I’m a little OCD so it does…definitely a disappointment. I ordered them from Hotshot off-road. Just emailed them so hopefully we can resolve it.

Colton is on the forum as you know. I'm sure he will do his best to help you out. I just had my XB leds swapped under warranty through HR (I got them through them which was before he joined the forum) just 2 weeks ago for hazing on the lenses. Really easy process. I called them up, the sent an email for me to reply to with pics. They reviewed them, said it was an approved warranty swap, and they sent a new set out the next day. I had PPF film installed on the new set. I did buy our 4R XB's through Hotshot so I know their customer service is awesome....hard to get that these days..

I just replied to ya. That sure looks like a warranty claim to us as well. Not sure why, but some of the Tacoma housings had damage in the exact same spots... :notsure: I pointed you towards their CS team with my order number (since we had them dropped to you as they were such a new product) to hopefully limit the amount of questions that you have to answer. As I stated in the email should you get any resistance from them at all please let me know and we'll get you taken care of. If they want you to pay a "core" fee to hold onto your current housings until the new ones arrive we'll pay it on your behalf - As long as you promise to send the broken housings back, of course :D

Appreciate the kind words George. Always helps to have a voice or two in your corner!

No problem at all. HR didn't charge me a core or anything at all. They covered shipping both ways as well.

Yep I outreached to them. I appreciate the fast response from you. I know it’s not on you guys and even if it was it happens…they do look sweet though. Looking forward to getting a non chipped pair.

I’m about to pull the trigger on the Morimoto gen 2 headlights and the new tails. I see a few ppl on here saying they got hyper flash though. I have a 2020 TRD Pro and replaced my interior lighting with Vled. Does anyone know if I’ll have a hyper flash also? Reading on the Morimoto website seems like they are talking about headlight and taillight bulbs that aren’t oem may cause it….

I didn't have any hyperflashing when I installed my XB headlights on my 2020 SR5. I have the Hottails (Vleds) conversion in my tail lights. I don't like the Morimoto tails. Check with @memario1214 for pricing.

I thought about keeping the stock tails also but i really like the way the new tails look with the sequential feature. I hope I dont get a hyper flash though. I was planning on ordering them today before the sale ends. can @memario1214 get a better deal on Morimoto products or you talking about the Hottails?

He can often get better pricing on the Morimotos but he sells the Hottails as well. We bought out XB's for the 4Runner through him and the price was better.

Forgot to mention.....get PPF put on the headlights once you get them....It will keep them from hazing the lenses.

The hazing is covered under the 5 year warranty but they will look awesome doing it right from the start. I just had mine replaced for the hazing.

I have a Tundra trd pro and have the exact same issue as you with the hyper flash in front. I’m going to get the VLR6 like you did also. Don’t suppose you have pics of what wires you tapped do you? I’m not an electrician at all lol and wanna make sure I tap the correct wires.

The VLR6 had threaded connectors on it. Did the tails give you hyperflash up front after you went from the OEM leds to the Morimoto XB's?

I did the tails first and didn’t check for hyper flash before I installed the heads. When you say they “had threaded connectors” what do you mean?

If you are referring to these, they have 2 pin connectors on them.

Yes that’s what I was looking at. I gotta look more then and see if I can find something that will fix the hyper flash on my heads.

I'm trying to remember what those 2 short adapters were for that came with the Xb's. I didn't need them on mine. You went from led to led so I'm not sure why you're hyperflashing. Maybe @memario1214 might know.

Disclaimer - my truck is a 2017 1794. So, I'm not sure if there have been any changes between the two models and years since I know they started going to LEDs for the Pros at some point and may have changed out connectors or the orientation on them. I doubt it but in my experience Toyota have changed wire colors and PCB layouts, so I didn't want to discount it.

Just to confirm, you only experience the hyperflashing in the head lights only and not in the tail lights? I ask because mine would never hyperflash in the back and only occurred in the front. Quickest way to determine is to disconnect the plugs while having the associated turn signal on and see if the head lights stop turning to determine where to splice your resistors. On mine, they only had the hot and ground wires connected and when splicing with the resistors, the orientation did not matter. The video I linked pretty much explained that part. I can't currently upload a photo of the connectors that I spliced into but can try to later today if you still require it. So, just let me know.

I emailed Morimoto about the hyperflashing thing when combining their taillights and headlights (I have their XB headlights on my Tundy), and all they said was they include resistors in the taillight purchase, didn't really offer any other insight or advice, or even if they're intended for use on the taillight or headlight harness lol

If I'm not mistaken, Toyota Techstream will let you go in and select whether or not you're using LED or halogen for the headlights. For someone like me who originally had halogen, this may help, unknown. Unfortunately I cannot even confirm that the feature is available in TIS since my truck is down after getting hit by another driver. Been in a rental since 20 May, ugh. A Ram no less. Thing drives like a boat, hate it
