Just looking for some guidance on a seat cover for the back of my 15’ crewmax.
We are picking up our first dog today and I don’t want My cloth seats tore up.

Tons of solutions from no name Chinese Amazon stuff (some of which will probably work fine), carhartt, etc. ( I ordered a carhartt one, btw- will update as I get it and use it)

Backseat pet/dog hammock is a good thing to search.

some guys build plywood and foam platforms etc.

Most of the ones I saw on there either had comments saying they were way too small for full size trucks, or they don’t have a cut out for the center fold down armrest

I’m not sure why you’d want that cut out? Serious question, not being difficult.

edit- just realized you were prob talking about the front seats, not rears for the armrest thing. Some scissors and a needle & thread could solve that for you. But I’m sure there are plenty that do have them pre cut if you’re willing to spend.

my dog will rain fur and I want something that will protect the back from that and I remove easily to wash.

I have an Orvis dog hammock (spendy but very well constructed) and 4Knines door protectors. Both have worked very well.

I have had the the Amazon Chineseum special going on 6 years now. I’d say it gets about 75% of the fur from two full grown labs. I’d get it again, although that setup that @Fitzf15E has looks pretty plush!
A couple things to think about are:
    (1) Do you want your pup to be able to look out the rear windows and be at the same level as you? Food grab and slobbery elbow and window warnings here. My father-in-law keeps his lab on the floor with the seat bottoms up. I prefer my pups enjoy the view and socialize and clean more frequently. To each their own.
    (2) Airflow sucks with all the hammocks and it can get stale and hot back there, unless you can figure out a way to duct the ventilation up over the hammock or something. I thought about cutting out a rectangle in the front of the hammock and sewing in metal mesh fabric so air could flow up. Might work, but years later, I just blast the AC and freeze up front for them today.

4knines here as well. The 60/40 split is great.

I've got the same setup for my Dutch Shepherd. Works great and well worth the money. I went through 3 cheap ones before finding the Orvis hammock.
Doesn't matter if my dog has wet or muddy paws, nothing goes through the seat cover. I wouldn't buy anything else.

Beautiful dog, an exact carbon copy of my dog. German Shepherds are the best!

I have some no name ones off Amazon and they work great. Carhartt will never see a penny from me after assuming they can make medical decisions for their employees.

That is a gorgeous and alert looking puppy, but I’m sorry @stevesgraytundra - Labs are the best.

We’ve got a cheaply from Amazon that fits our Jeep GC really well and will stretch and fit my 2019 CM Tundy. It’s ok, but let’s some of the dirt/dust through. Like a sieve. Cuts down on the hair transfer greatly and saves the seats from scratches. Paid $30 or so for it. I would recommend something better for regular duty.

I use Petevo door covers. They are the largest (27Wx22H) I have found to cover the CrewMax doors (~32inwide) These are the closest I have found to cover the width of the door but they are still about 5 inches short. If anyone knows of a cover that protects the entire door that would be great.

I think this is what I will go with. I like the idea of the mesh vent for AC/heat for the little mongrel.

Update to one of my previous posts here. The Carhartt one isn't even close to large enough for CrewMax Trucks. I should have taken a picture, but it was so bad that I wanted to fold it back up immediately so it would still fit in the box and I could ship it back (which I did, and Carhartt customer service took good care of me - so no complaints there).

I bought this one from Amazon
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QXF3XGB?ie=UTF8&th=1
It fits the back seat on my 21 CM nicely. We have a yellow lab and it does a good job. Have had it for about 9 months now and it's holding up nicely, no tears or anything. You have access to the seat belt buckles, center arm rest and center seat belt. To lift the seat bottoms by myself I have to remove the bottom elastic strap that hold the bottom in place so the bottom cover can move as I lift each side separately.

4knines is definitely more expensive. Key feature for me is the sling/hammock that spans the footwell. Keeps the back side of the front seats clean, but most importantly is the protection for the dog. He likes to stand or sit to keep his head out the window, and this keeps him from hurting himself during turns and braking. Had a more simple seat cover before, and I was constantly concerned about him slipping into the footwell

We have an Orvis seat cover that we bought for my wifes previous vehicle, they are nice covers, unfortunately the one we have wasn't big enough to cover the Tundra rear seat.
