What’s this part called and can you replace without taking the door apart?

    Why are you wanting to replace? The cracks in the thick plastic coating are pretty much cosmetic if that was your only reason. The steel bar inside is what takes the real load. If there is nothing more than meets the eye.

    I want to see if it’s not too bad of a dyi because it makes an funky noise as it’s opening/closing and at some point it like pops

    To me it looks like it's cracked all the way through. Can you see it open up or spread apart as you're moving the door?

    Yup. The popping noise is when they go bad. Not a difficult DIY. Bought my replacement from eBay. Some people swear OEM is the only way to go, but I've had no problems with mine for the past 1+ years. You will have to take the interior door panel off.

    Mine popped from the day I got it. They had to replace it under warranty. And yes, unfortunately the panel must come off.

    It does open all the way, and when it goes to close that’s when it pops

    Yeah if that crack is opening up then it went all the way through. Time to change it. They aren't expensive so that's good.

    You can get the door panel off in 3 minutes..
    Just remember which cable is which (door pull and lock) when you put it back together.
