Considering only one other contractor has bothered to give me a quote and the other guy was kinda sketchy, you're hired.

I just need to run irrigation lines down the length of the wall and Ts at each bush and then caulk the penetration into the house. Pretty stoked! Growing up, my mom did many seasons of tomatoes from our wash water, my dad did a 50ft run underground with 2” and popped it up at 2 different trees; one for the turtles and one for grow beds.

The permit office approved my deck design. I'll be starting demo and site prep today. Hopefully I'll be able to drill holes and set the footings on my next days off.

Installed some new garage lights a little bit back. Figured I’d share the info for you guys who need more light in your garage/shop. Very simple, lights plug into one another with connectors and with the kit I have you can link 8 together. Wire into your existing junction box for the poor lightning you have and boom. Done. Hung 8 lights in about 30 minutes.

In about a year you may not be so happy. I put the same ones up and they burned out…every single one. The clips are not the best either. Put a better anchor in or the lights may fall down on what’s below. FYI.

I ended up going with a commercial LED from HD.

Anchored into cross beams with 3” wood screws. They’re not coming down lol. I may go ahead and buy another set to sit on just Incase they do go out. They all went out at one time? Like the exact same time? That sounds like one closest to power quit and you lost power to the rest. But you know your situation better than I

Random ones just went. However it did seem like at least two went out at the same time.

The clips is what doesn’t hold up the lights as well. I ended up using safety tie wire around the clips.

The lights were amazing while they worked. I just hope you have a different experience.

I'm putting in a deck to fill that area. It'll be 10x9 feet and at the level of the door, about 6 feet up.

My yard isn't bad for a city lot. I've got some landscaping ideas for after the deck is done, including a brick sitting area around the fire pit. The other side of house has a 12ft wide side yard that I need to figure something out for too.

Sorry bro, that grass is long gone. Most of it was gone when we bought the house. LOL. My yard is mostly a mix of clover, dandelions and some rough, pointy grass. It's not exactly primo stuff. That's my project for next summer, a broadleaf killer spray with aeration, re-seeding and fertilizer.

Put a trampoline below that door in case you are going out for a late night backyard pee and forget the stairs are gone. Can't have my new nieces daddy in traction.

I'm pretty sure that's permafrost. It greens up nice in the 1 week of summer they have up there.

Gonna put a "danger: steep drop" sign on the inside of the door. :D

Got a bunch of the scrap wood repurposed to a couple sawhorses. They're a bit low but being scrap, I was limited. They'll work well to keep material off the ground anyway.
