Not Tundra related, but I need some help and I'm probably overthinking things. I just bought a 2001 accord for my soon to be 16 year old and the PO must have nailed a curb really hard. The tie rod and control arm were bent so I replaced those, but still can't get alignment in spec. I took it to a frame shop and they think they can loosen the subframe and shift it over to get things lined up. My question is camber is off and so I'm wondering if the knuckle is bent also. I can wait and see what the frame shop can do ($400 estimate), replace the knuckle now and see where that gets me or buy an adjustable upper ball joint to get camber in spec.

I guess my concern is spending the $400 at the fame shop and then still having to replace the knuckle. If I'm going to do that, I'd rather just replace the knuckle. I have mental issues with wasting money and if I could have just replaced the knuckle and not spent $400 at the frame shop I'll judge myself for years.

Somebody want to talk me off the crazy ledge?

    How far off?

Probably best to replace the knuckle if you can DIY it for cheap. And if that doesn't do it then frame shop.

Not only this, @rock climber but also, in which direction? Camber, caster, toe?

Is it possible to compare (or measure) the knuckles on the driver and passenger side with reference points to check?

Yeah, calling Billy right now on the front bumper situation. That thing is not long for this world :)

I don't know that I'll have much of any black/dark charcoal trim once I'm done. Outside of the decals that is, which are new-ish.

When I read your question how far off? I thought you were referring to talking me off the ledge and I was thinking "all the way off duh!

Junkyard knuckle is $85 and close by.

    Good idea.

Here are the alignment numbers. It's in spec, but just barely.

Being that far off in caster and camber isn't a knuckle only problem. Not with a new lower control arm.

If it drives ok, and doesn't wear tires out, leave it alone.

If it pulls or has some other issue, then have the frame shop work on it. Knuckle may be the camber but the caster would be crossmember/chassis.

Nothing to see, but dropped it off with the paint guy today. Between his time and a pre-planned vacation for me, probably won’t have it back in my hands for about a month, but excited to have the end in sight.

I’m 500miles from my next oil change. $80 worth of Mobil 1 and Napa gold. I think I’ll take that excuse to do the diffs. Did the t-case 4500 ago. Drain and fill for the trans will start at 10.5k miles.

Think that the lower ball joints on those fail relatively often. Make sure they are in good shape or replace as preventative. Probably not causing your issue at all just a heads up.

I also have the manual for the Baofung 82 that alb1k has, also a nice rig.
The hot ticket is the Baofung CHIRP software, it's free, works with Windows, and will fully program your radio. The cable you need is the same alb1k needs, a PC-03 Programming cable, Amazon has them $22 bucks!
    https://www.amazon.com/BTECH-PC03-Genuine-Programming-Cable/dp/B00HUB0ONK
You could take your current radio, READ what's programmed into it, and change from there. There is a lot of things this radio can be programmed to listen to beside GMRS.
You could send me your radio file, I'll check out what you have, if I make changes, it's easy to upload the new file into the radio!
I like the midland GMRS, most power, not as many features as the Baofung....
I also will be installing a Yaesu dual, or possibly QUAD Band rig!
    Toys Toys Toys...

Ha! I run chirp on a Mac. Had to get the right cable. And figure out drivers or versions or whatever. At one time, there seemed to be a magic sequence to make the radio talk to the computer. USB fist, then power radio, whatever, lol. I was fortunate to have a friend like (is it Road?) aka @KK6PD help me with cleaning up building my file/image. And then the settings, oof. But, I have an image that has VHF, UHF, including local fire, law, marine, ham, and whatever the gmrs and other things are. And added a single simplex channel for a trip that worked just fine. But, if any of you need help, do not ask me. Ask @KK6PD, I know enough to tell you he's the one to ask. And it sounds like he will help.

I'm a little behind on this page and apparently missed your tag, so im not sure if you got any more answers on this, but the toytecs are 5100 shocks. Not sure about the springs though.

I'm guessing those are Eibach springs.

Lots of people seem to like the 5100 + Eibach combo. For our AC, I think it's reco'd to run the Eibach 650# springs, but they have a 700# spring too.

I definitely like your stance, your lift turned out well. I've always lilked the idea of coilovers, but I've nearly always hated the way they ride on vehicles I've used COs to lower. Maybe it's different with lifting. I think a static strut/spring combo is a better fit for me than a CO. That's also the reason I'm trying to get that added feedback/pics from guys like @Dave8699 ... Static is static. If I choose the wrong option of the two in front of me, I can't just crank my CO to adjust, then re-align.

End goal on this 1st step is maybe 1" rake front to back. It's looking like the 5100/885 is going to get me near-level like your Toytecs, but I'm seeing AC/4WD trucks with this setups looking like they have up to an inch of squat, and AC/2WD with significant squate. I suspect the 5100/884 is going to give me the mild rake I'm seeking out having a AC/4WD with no armor (yet).

One thing is certain, either option will get me 275/70/17 no-rub clearance w/o excess wheel gap in the fender, and I won't be swapping out early-fatigued parts 5-10k miles down the road, so I can't lose too much. Worst case scenario, I go 5100/884 and wind up with a little too much rake up front and strut shim for a simple no-geometry change solution, or spring swap to 885. or I go 5100/885, end up with a true level, or a tiny bit of squat, and 1" block or 1.5" AAL out back.

I rub a tiny bit on the fender liner while turning left forwards or back. I'm betting a proper alignment would get rid of that.

The ride isn't necessarily rough, but it isn't squishy.

For the rake, we left the AAL out due to time and tool constraints, but that should put the 1" rake back in, but I'll jack the COs up to get it back level. Eventually.

I'm guessing some of that may be due to the how much tire meat you've got running those 16s, too. But would need to break out a ruler with a decent comparison to prove it. Perception of height/width is limited by photo, but the general meat I'm seeing on your 16s looks on par with what you'd get in a 285/70/17.

I've got the AAL sitting in the truck. I just need it to not be hot as hades out to get it on. It really sucks not having a garage or shade to work in. Canopy would work, but I can't get one over the truck in the driveway and stake it down, and with the wind here it HAS to be staked down.
