Just get a handful of self tappers and drill straight through the plate and into the bumper. That way you can get a cool look of a studded frame, without having the frame.

It's what all the cool kids are doing these days.

Late to the party....OP - FFS, are you really concerned about that? Please update us with the name/addy of your local dealers as I am certain they are in for stupid fucking complaints in the future that they should not have to deal with and I want to send them some donuts/pizza to offset shit they have to put up with from you.

Somebody needs to lay off the cocaine. He didn't say anything to you, and is reaching out to the community to see if this is normal. Nothing wrong here except your attitude, bucko.

You're not missing anything obvious in that pic, but (as was previously suggested) you might have tightened the screws a bit much causing the bottom to bow out. Have you tried loosening the screws a bit? You might have to straighten the plate if this is the issue.

I thought maybe a spacer or a few washers between the plate and the bumper.

I don't know if my plate looks like that or not, I haven't seen my truck in 7 months.:eek2:
But I certainly wouldn't have posted it on this forum and taken the heat @IMXPLRN has taken..:D

They actually tried that when I was on the flight line at Travis, worked 4 10's for the better part of 3 month's. Morale was so high they said, "nope can't be having this" and went back to 5 8's. It really sucked, by the time you did turnover you were there 9 hours anyways....

It's pretty awesome, people at my work all say the 4 day work week is what keeps them there. It's the single greatest thing about the company. I don't know why it's not more common. The shipping and inventory guys work 5 days because of ups and stuff but they still love it since nobody else is there so they fuck around all day lol

20231218_205806.jpg I had the same problem. Center bar behind license is bowed out. Pulled it in flush using a tie wrap.

Finally!!!! The mystery is solved! We can all rest easy now. What a hard, painful, and disappointing year it has been. Shame OP sold the truck after waiting for this day for too long.

Hopefully OP didn’t fix it already using the boat trailer method.

Good thing I have thick skin... but seriously there were some real dick answers here... maybe they were deserved, maybe they weren't. I still have the truck and the plate is still like that.
I get talking a little crap with your buddies and all but no one here knew me at that time. Maybe it's me, but I wouldn't come down on someone new to a site like that. You don't know what frame of mind people are in. What if someone took it super personal and harmed themselves over it. It costs nothing to be kind and it's easy to not say anything if you don't have anything nice to say.

I see a bunch of lighthearted kidding around, nothing overtly mean. The responses were as expected for a trivial issue. If someone is so delicate that they would consider harming themselves over anything in this thread they should avoid the internet in general. No one came down on you. Your license plate sits slightly off kilter, it's not like you had a REAL PROBLEM and no one helped you. It's not bad people here, take it all as it is, joking around.

Looks to me like the passenger side top screw there is a dent just above it and that is making it bend out. Take the plate off, turn it downside up and lightly straighten because they tend to bend really easy once compromised. Just an observation

Run a length of weather stripping behind the upper side of the plate to push it out a bit to match the lower.
