    EDIT: Solved (sort of)
I found the reverse light wire in the passenger side engine compartment. much easier and cleaner install than running wire all the way to rear of vehicle. will post pictures of location and wire to tap shortly...

    Hello,
Does anyone know where I could tap into the reverse lights inside the cab of the truck?
Either under the dash, beneath the drivers seat or along either door?

I have rigged up some Rigid auxiliary reverse lights. I'd like to use a three-way switch so I can have the lights Off, on w/ reverse, or constant on.

Tapping into the reverse lights inside the cab is preferable to running another wire all the way back.

Thanks in advance for the help!

I'm looking to do the same. Have you found a 3 way switch that will fit in the stock switch spaces?

Thanks for the reply. I could do that option, but as stated in the OP: it's not my first choice.

I'm not using stock switch locations so I'm not aware of a switch that would fit.

    Thanks for the replies csuviper!
Running a wire to the back of the truck is easy enough, but I would really like to know where the reverse light wire is in the cab.

My guess is that it must be under the drivers seat, and I'm hoping someone here knows which wire it is.
I'd like not to test them all.

I've found a solution that results in a much cleaner install than running another wire all the way to the rear of the vehicle.

I'm using a 3-way switch and relay. I didn't want to run any more wires to the rear of the vehicle than was necessary, so I figured there must be a way to tap into the reverse lights from the cab.
I was able to find a 2015 Service manual with wiring diagrams (downloaded from Russian website) and found what I considered the easiest place...

Passenger side engine compartment, inside the connection box, Connector RA5, Pin Location 5, Blue wire w/ Red Stripe:

You can pass the wire form the drivers side, behind the head unit to the passenger side using a piece of romex, coat hanger or similar.
Then the wire passes through the firewall where all the other wires pass through. You just have to cut the tip off of the rubber nipple. (you can see my white wire passing through in the photo)

Unfortunately, following the wiring back from the BK-UP fuse, there doesn't appear to be a dedicated reverse light wire that is easily accessed until this point.

    Hope this is helpful.

(this is the thread where I found the service manual, no virus from download: https://www.tundras.com/threads/2015-service-manual.7436/)

Yes, this is correct. I didn't want to use the back up cam wire as I'm going to install the FRAC harness. I am intentionally keeping the auxiliary lights and cam completely separate. Plus I didn't have to take out the head unit to install.

@claptrap are you doing this for the FRAC harness install? I'm doing the FRAC as well and I'm learning from folks like you who have a better knowledge of doing things. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

this was for an auxiliary reverse light set-up. I didn't want to run any more wires than necessary to the rear of the vehicle.

I have completed my FRAC install, so if you have specific questions I can try to help. It's a straight forward install.
