Good afternoon, I'm looking for some advice. I have 6112 on order and they are to arrive on Wednesday. My plan is to go on the top setting and put 5100 in the rear. My question is what should I put in the rear in terms of size and preference? Do I go 1inch, 1.5 inch or 2 inch? Do I go blocks, add leaf or shackle? I don't off-road at all and its daily driver. Just seeing what everyone thoughts are?

    Thanks

Install the fronts and see how it looks before starting on the rear…it might be level and/or look how you want it. Otherwise might need front shims from coachbuilder if you start lifting the rear. I don’t *think* 5100s at the rear are adjustable. Would say a 1” block is the easiest/cheapest way to go and would still maintain ride quality for your described usage. Anything over 1” block or if wanting more lift in the rear, then shackles would be the better option.

So I had the work done today and went with the 2.5 fourth setting. You can defiantly tell the front is higher. My question is do I go; 1in,1.5 or 2 in block? Do I need carrier bearing drop as well?

    Thanks

Depends on if you want a more leveled look or to add in rake…in my opinion, I think a 1” would be plenty to bring it level or just slightly higher in the back. Also, might park on a flat surface and put a 2’ level on the bedside where it meets the cab; the front wheel well is cut up higher so it can give the appearance depending on the angle that the front is higher than level. I would skip the diff and carrier drop. You aren’t lifted enough to change the geometry enough for it to matter.

Another option if you tow or want to improve the ride in the back is to look at the RAS (roadmaster active suspension) it will lift the rear about an inch, and lots of people on here have liked the ride/improved towing characteristics. More expensive than a simple 1” block, but gives some added benefit versus appearance

The front will settle a bit too. My 6112’s settled 1/2 -3/4” after a month or so.

Thank you for that, I do appreciate it. No, I don't tow anything, so I'm thinking 1in block as well. 2 would defiantly be too much.

I appreciate that, so you think 1in block as well? What setting did you go with? Are you still happy with 6112?

I would personally go with either an add a leaf or shackle in the rear vs the block.

I second shackle. Super easy to do and it won't sacrifice your ride quality. Extend your bump stops though- don't want a premature flat leaf pack

1” block is perfectly fine for his intended use; it’s when you start going to larger blocks that can cause issue with axle wrap and other ride quality issues.

I went at the 1.9”, happy with the stance with stock rear, except I am going to install air bags so I can maintain that level with a payload.

I’m honestly not sure if I’d do the 6112’s again. I mean I don’t hate them, and they are an improvement over my 13 year old TRD Bilstein 4600’s, but considering the price, they haven’t blown my socks off. Then again, I had a broken coil, so in the end I guess the price over 5100’s or similar was pretty much a wash.

I’d consider going with the 2nd setting and adding CB shims. Better ride and also compensate for the “Tundra lean.” Gets you just over 2” of lift.

Appreciate that, I had it done yesterday and went with 4 setting. I'm actually impressed how good it rides considering.

So I finally went to parking lot and actually I’m in better shape than I thought. I’m only off a little. I was on the verge of buying the Toytec shackles as it is 1in or 1.5, you can pick the setting. I figured if I bought the 1in block and wasn’t enough or didn’t like it then I had to buy 1.5 block or vise verse , I figured this would be happy medium. Still little torn. I want the 5100 in the rear and see one size goes to 1in and the other 5100 is over 2in, so that cause another issue going 1.5 inches. Any thoughts?

okay, last question. I just took measurement in the level garage. I should put the front spacer on but I listened to Trick Trucks and opted not too.

Anyways should I go with 1in or 1.5 in for the rear?
