I was about to say im gonna be a weakling when i get home, havent moved rocks in a month, but i did bring grandma some rocks from barnwell mountain.

 

You can always build yourself a stone patio to get yourself back in shape. I've been meaning to do that myself sometime.

A little heat and that bumper cover will pop back out. Heat gun works well if you have a helper to hold it while you push on the inside. If you don't, park it in the sunshine for a couple hours and that'll work too.

I was just about to say the same. May not even need heat. This is one of my OCD ticks, when I see dimpled bumpers. I legitimately have to fight the urge to reach around back of the bumper and push it out.

I noticed that recently - I think I bookmarked the one @FirstGenVol posted a while back. Then I went to Fumoto's website and noticed they recommended a totally different one for my '06. I meant to look into whether the older trucks used a different one or not, and what the difference was between the one he listed and the manuf'er lists.

 

I've been running the 1/2" and 1/4" impact in the driveway a bit off the onboard air. It's pretty awesome. I might have to scrap the under truck water tank idea and double my air capacity with the second tank and get to 10 gal air capacity. I can run water like regular people...lol.

 

I initially bought the wrong one. Fixed that. I think there is now a higher flow option for toyota.

F133N now. I don't see higher flow on the website.

 

For my purposes I need a minimum 5 CFM compressor for my die grinder. The electric handheld doesn't cut it. Also, it's great using a pneumatic impact for tight spaces you can't normally get to with an electric.

I like IRs and their two-stage units that deliver a noise level of 60-65 dB max.

 

I've looked a lot at 80 gal uprights with high CFM over the years. Never could pull the trigger, but I probably would have long ago if I had a big shop.

 

I keep contemplating going to Milwaukee just for the battery ratchet. Maybe I should just buy the ratchet and keep my dewalt stuff.

 

You could also just have a water tank, and use the air as a source to pressurize the water output, or is that dumb/convoluted?

No, that's where I've been going in my head. It's the fill and drain that are tough. But, now that I'm doing a rack, I can go conventional, and pressurize on a schrader valve.

 

Oh so like fill then separate valve, take from air tank to pressurize filled water manually, then compressor refills air tank. Totally independent with the same inflator as your tires? That's cool.

How come nobody makes a spare tire shape/sized air tank? Seems like a donut would rule for that.

No, I’ve used the Dewalt corded one. Can you get a wire cup to spin at 20k rpm under load like I can with a compressor? The Dewalt failed for that unfortunately.

 

I just called Home Depot since the 10% off deal with their credit card coupon didn’t work so they corrected it. So for $134.10 with battery, charger and soft case you get the high speed ratchet. Seems like a great deal to me. Had I known Home Depot was going to send me 10% off coupons regularly, I would’ve gotten the card a while back.

 

I definitely have a mental bookmark to remember your setup when it's time to work on this project myself.

Well it keeps changing, lol. But I have the plan and parts listed. The more I think about it the more likely I twin tank the air and a water tank low pressure on the rack...

 

Yeah, twin air I like, though I also like my spare under the bed. My shell isn't very tall so that's where air tanks in the bed could be OK, as could water, provided the main bed space still fits 4x8 and allows nice sleepage.

 

So what's the deal with these ratchets?

 

I've not loaded it with a wire cup just yet. But it'll spin 20000rpm with a roloc bristle disc.
I'll try to remember to put a wire cup in there and give er a whirl this week and report back.

Thanks, yeah running at 20k does a fantastic job of getting rid of surface rust and cleaning it down to almost bare metal in small spaces prior to prepping it for a rust paint coating like POR-15. You could also try a wire wheel instead if you can't find the wire cup as I generally switch between both based upon what I'm treating.

 

I did that when I stripped the 911 engine bay last time. MAPP torch and wire wheel in the right angle die grinder.
I think the compressor was hotter than the torch. It took a beating.
