Wow, I asked mine and his reply was, "that has lawsuit written all over it". He acted like I was crazy for asking.

So, look for a section in your owners manual titled customization or customizable features. For my '21 it was at the back of my owner's manual pg 565 of 612. This area deals w/how to adjust settings for things such as doors lock on D or unlock when shifting to P, buzzer volumes, language, etc... It then gives a matrix several pages long w/each customizable feature; some can be adjusted on the multi-informational display (1); some can be adjusted on the multimedia display (2); and some can be adjusted/set by the dealer (3).

Right after illumination on my matrix it then lists Vehicle Speed Linked Seatbelt Reminder Buzzer. Default setting is "on" and customizable setting is "off"... Sections 1 and 2 show "-", meaning I can not adjust this setting on my own, but (3) is marked 'O', meaning the dealer can customize this setting to "off".

Find this in your own manual for reference and to verify that it can in fact be changed on your vehicle before talking w/your dealer again; but I'd imagine they should be able to do it on yours as well.

If it's an option they shouldn't balk at doing it. I've attached my 2 reference pages for you see what I'm talking about. It's a software flash, so they shouldn't charge anything for the service if they are able to do it on your year/model.

    Good luck!

Good info. Thanks, I'll definitely see if I can find that in the manual. Nevertheless, when I see the service manager face to face, I'm going to tell him that removing this headache is the least he could do for all the other headaches this truck provides, lol!

The seatbelt chime isn’t nearly as bad as the beeping anytime you close a door with the keyfob in your pocket. That’s #1 on my hit list.

The "Seat Belt Reminder Buzzer" was taken out of the customizable options for the 22'

    Just checked the owners manual.

I didn’t like the beeping when the lane assit was activated, flash the light on the dash or hud, but damn don’t beep at me every time you drift a touch

thats great news, I test drove the platinum which is what I would get and that was really tacky.

if we cant have a throaty V8 , then let's just have it quiet and listen to the boost here and there. The fake engine noise was way over done IMO

I got back in my 5.7 and went , ya, thats real deal..

Why keep the chime for front passenger? Just curious if there a rationale to it.

My girlfriend forgets her seatbelt all time. More to annoy her to wear it.

I’m not sure. I can take a look again later this week when I’m back at work.

Can anyone with a laptop download this and connect to the truck?
I'm very unfamiliar with this but assume it would connect through an OBD2 chord x USB?

I have a 22' and would be interested in making the changes listed above.

omg for real this one is horrible and god forbid you trying to get out of somewhere fast and your door isn't closed all the way. You have to make sure you close it tight again then put in park then back in drive.

Saw this older man ran off the road and rolled his truck today. His seat belt saved his life!

Seatbelts are proven to help save lives as well as mitigate the severity of bodily injury. Despite this, if you’re not wearing a seatbelt and have an accident then your bodily injury claims could be severely diminished if they can prove that wearing a seatbelt would have resulted in a less severe bodily damage claim. While you can also hire a lawyer to help, it’s a hassle and due to lawyer fees you’ll still end up short of what it would have been had you been wearing your seatbelt.

Another thing to consider is most life insurance policies have stipulations that if your wreck resulted in your death then the claim can be voided completely. Life insurance will do absolutely anything to deny a claim and this is just an easy one.

With all this said, most people complain about the chime and how it operates going from driveway to mailbox or something. My wife has a Kia telluride and the chime never comes on until the vehicle reaches a certain speed (10-15mph). So going to end of driveway or just moving a trailer around on my property, the chime for our tundras is ridiculous and therefore I have mine disabled. Still typically wear my seatbelt but can’t stand the chime just to drive 1/4 mile down my driveway to drop garbage off for garbage day pickup or moving something on my property that I never see 10 mph even. Ty techstream!

After watching (and participating in) this debate....I initially was thinking "Yeah that would be really cool to port into the computer of the truck and make adjustments"....I would love to be able to fine tune the vehicle to what I want it to do. Then I started researching the software and getting the cable, etc. etc.....after the cable (Amazon ~ $30-50) and getting bootlegged software from China that REQUIRES ME to disable the Firewall of my computer....the less jazzed I got. The seat belt clips seemed like an even better idea, especially since the ONLY reason I would want the chime to be removed is because of the exact reasons being stated....Haul my trash down my 1/4 mile driveway, get the mail, driving on a dirt trail for a "perfect" camping spot/hiking area.

So the Amazon seat belt clips would be a LOW COST removable option for the brief times I would like to NOT have the chime....thereby not exposing myself to insurance/life insurance issues because what NEWDLES states is absolutely correct, not to mention having significant computer issues, or even screwing up my truck's computer.

    Love this forum :)

If you don’t already have the cable and tech steam then I wouldn’t purchase it. Swing by dealer one day. They’ll change the seatbelt setting for free if you’d ever like. The clip thing is a hassle if you’re actually a seatbelt guy that truly does wear it.
