Best Looking Tires for 2022 Tundras

You could go bigger. The dealership doesnt know what they’re talking about. This isn’t the old Gen that rubbed with every combo besides stock. There’s a lot more room in there. I just don’t like the stuffed look

 

There are a lot of wheel/tire shops that are still in this mindset also but as it’s a new truck we will need to give them time to learn.

I spent 20min on the phone yesterday explaining to a tire shop manager why the wheels/tire combo I was looking at won’t rub…and that it’s a new generation Tundra, etc…and I swear if he was getting pissed at me for not just going along with what he was saying.

if he wasn’t a need (distributor) I wouldn’t have been on there that long…patience won however

 

When I ran a tire shop I would use forums and galleries like customwheeloffset.com to learn what others are doing to get the right combos. People are stubborn and require a computer catalog to tell them what works. Heck most don’t even understand widths, offsets and backspacing.

 

For some reason I can't select 2022 Toyota Tundra in the gallery of customwheeloffset.com. Is it showing up for anyone else?

 

Unfortunately, the shop was under the impression that 33" on 20" wheels was as big as I could go without rubbing. They even took off the mudflaps. Anyone have real world info on how big you can go on the stock TRD Off-Road 20" wheels?

Someone can correct me if I’m but more guys are running a 295/60r20 on the factory wheels. I’m one of the few running a smaller diameter (275/70r18) tire.

 

Yeah I think you’re right. They wouldn’t go bigger but I like the way the combo ended up looking. Good to know that I can go bigger without rubbing if I want though.

Stock wheels without a lift would be 33" at largest.

I’m going with a set of Toyo Open County AT3’s 295/65-20 on factory rims with a Pro-Comp lift….2.5”front and 1” back….It’s going down tomorrow. I’ll post pics.

pics above of 22 Plat are 34.1 Firestones with ZERO MODIFICATIONS, no pinning back of anything, no issue with full lock, no issues backing etc. NO issue when 900 lbs in bed, NO issue towing 7k up and down WV mountains..

Do some research and a little scrolling — several people running bigger than 34 on stock suspension.

 

Go through this whole thread plus other third Gen threads. I, also who owns a new Tundra, was running offset wheels with a 33.31x11 tire lock to lock no rub. Once again this truck isn’t the old Gen. Welcome to 2022 bud, but you do you man and believe however you wish.

 

Here you go sir…295/70/18 Atturo Trailblade XT on stockers, no lift and no mods whatsoever (even have my mud-flaps).

This same Combo on Methods with a Bilstein 5112 on top setting (18x9 +25 offset ) rubbed like crazy on my 2015 …had to remove mudflaps and trim front fender and still got funny looks reversing on a hill at full lock cause it sounded like a cheese grater.

On the 22 it’s a breeze no matter which way the suspension is loaded

Ride is great. Feels like a road tire on the road and behaves like a AT off road. Hardly any road noise.

 

When I get my truck, I'm looking at putting 285/75/18 on it. Probably Falken Wildpeaks or Nitto Terra Grapplers. I want a better look, better off pavement performance and don't plan to put a lift or level in for awhile.

Picked up a Rough Country 3.5” Lift, Mickey Thompson Baja Boss 295/60/20 today on Toyota Wheels. I’m happy with how it turned out. Not the best pictures…

How do you like these tires, are they quiet?

 

Tires are extremely quiet, it was a prerequisite, wanted something aggressive looking but also quiet. They are good, I have about 7 miles on them ha,ha. Plus they are made here in the States so that’s cool as well.
