Yea me too. I can't buy into lottery odds, but if I found a winner on the sidewalk, maybe I could get a used truck, lol.

Any time, just sharing my experience and what I suspect is the issue. Those guys are great from what I understand, and having been there to talk to them. Give them a shout and tell them what is going on. The only reason I didn't rebuild mine, is that I got exact comparisons from Archive (pictures, same truck, measurements) and was certain about what to expect. And, Deavers are pretty easy to sell. I expect to put Deavers on my next truck.

Deaver is awesome. I had quite a few questions and they helped me figure out the perfect pack for my needs. Mine is about 2”-2.5” over stock with 500lbs in the back. Unloaded I’m near 3”. I installed them back in 2018. They’re still holding up. I do wish I would’ve added a second coat of paint before I put them on the truck. I’ve since repainted them once with them still on the truck

Shouldn't be too difficult if your truck is pre-wired for one. I think most of them are.

Thanks. I found out about that trick after ripping the first console cover.
For whatever reason, the back console/seat was just a colossal PIA. I tried the bag, I pulled out the clothes steamer, even brought out the heat gun, and cut some of the foam off. But that sucker was tough. Everything else was no problem, but that damn thing was a monster.

I still haven’t gotten tires balanced but today I took my janky jack out and put a front tire in the air. I didn’t get much notable movement 12-6, but I did at 3-9 with a small audible clank; pretty sure that is a tie rod issue? I don’t think they are super expensive and I need an alignment anyways. I’ll start sourcing the cheapest units I can find……

Gs430 timing covers going on the truck. Just got back from powder coat. Came out good (you can see the imperfections in the aluminum though, oh well)
I had an aluminum fill neck powder coated too. Slowly remove the plastics under the hood. Install coming soon

Installed new axles, axle seals, ECGS bushing, brake pads and rotors over the weekend. Trying to be ready for the upcoming trip.
    20220219_121410.jpg
Was originally planning to go with NAPA HD axles which are $248 each but was looking around on Rockauto and found Trakmotive axles that look 100 percent identical to the NAPA HD axles down to the pictures posted on the websites but they were $125 a piece. (After getting on RA now they appear to be branded as FVP model TO8088ET). Hanging on to OEM axles in case anything happens to these or maybe want to reboot through CVJ.
    20220219_121608.jpg

Got a key ordered for the topper and planning to put on mid March or so as long as I get other maint work done since once the topper is on I can't work on the truck in my garage any more.
Now I need to order the cheap OE style exhaust I found on Amazon and replace what I'm missing so this trip isn't miserable and that'll be about all the major stuff taken care of.

Did you guys with Deavers remove the overload
Let us know how they hold up, those look like a great inexpensive option.

Found a tailgate. Working on refinishing it today, but I need a new protector strip that goes on the edge. Anyone know of a good replacement one?

I can dig up the part number for an OEM one which may lead you to an aftermarket if you don't like the price. Just need to know your cab config: Regular, Access, or Double? DC had a different everything on the body. Looks like an AC in your profile pic but I don't want to make assumptions. Signature and truck details in profile don't say.

Edit: If it is Access cab, part number is 65717-0C010 (alternate: 657170C010) and damn that's an expensive piece of plastic at $135! See here: https://parts.toyotasouthatlanta.com/v-2006-toyota-tundra--limited--4-7l-v8-gas/body--tailgate

The long ass side rails are only like $60 (here), same with each side of the rear bumper plastics are under $40 (here). Not sure why the tailgate cap is $135!

Put the rear diff back in, had some time to kill so did the breather mod.

I'm not saying anyone should remove their spare tire from under the truck, because like me - then you have to put it somewhere else.

But if you do, there is so much room for activities!

Hey I lerked thru your build thread today, what was the reason you got AG leafs after having the deavers? I’m eye balling the hammer hangers and HD leafs, also was curious about the TC drop shackle instead of oem or AG 4” shackles?

I had the G57 Deavers. They are 1" over and 200lb. It gave me a tad (not 1") of height over stock and about the same up travel / distance to bump stops as stock. Any load and I was running on bumps on freeway whoops. I suspect the G57 is slightly more geared to AC. Around then I realized level empty or load capable; take your pick. I wasn't going to play with tuning or rebuilds, Eric at Archive Garage was able to give me comp measurements because he had a Gen 1 DC customer. The MD "Shackelton" springs he sells are 600lb and like 2.75 over stock. I think when I measured my axle to frame with the G57, the difference for me was 2.5, so I ordered the TC drop shackles. I'm currently about 1.5" higher in the back now empty (w /Tonneau) and the TC shackles. The springs are really good.

Access cab, 06.. Yeah, I'm baffled at the cost of the thing. Also, there's a distinct lack of aftermarket replacements or used on ebay. You can find 2nd gen Tundra, Tacoma versions all over for $25.

I'd rather have something like this if I was going to spend that much. :monocle:

I ran it up to the bed truss and along it, then back along of the top of the frame into the rear driver brake light area. It's where everyone I've seen puts it, and it makes sense. I didn't get pics of that - but I can

Running between the bed and the truss, gives me some adjustment. And then just along the truss or support or whatever it is called to frame top and in the tail light area.

It's a great mod, considering how much I spent on the diff, I like it more. I've looked at some posts and occasionally someone buys just enough hose, and finds it to be tight. I bought 25' of fuel line on Amazon (jumps from 10' to 25') so I could slack and route the hose where I wanted and cut at the end.
