    Journey to Dirty Sevens...

Wild hair up my bum to go dirty sevens with many peeps in my ear, @TRDFerguson , @TundraPHX , @KevinK and skinny legs... @AT x AT

Retained the same wheels, 18x9+25 MR 701's, BMC was done previously to clear the 35's, needs maybe a few mils more for comfort, I'll add that hear if necessary.

Pardon the brevity or roughness in some of these photos, many were taken before final dressing and paint steps were applied.

Before: 35x12.5r18 - Nitto Ridge Grappler

    After: 37x13.5r18 - Toyo RT

not quite down trimming things up yet.

    Rear Pinch Weld Modification/Fender trim:

    Seam Sealer, before paint.

new fender liner attachment point. 10-24 jacknut and screw.
    upload_2022-2-7_9-15-40.jpg

Fender liner trimmed/tucked and clips replace with 10-24 jacknuts and screws for easier tom-foolery in the future.

    Tons of room for activities...

Warranty Denial - Rear Propeller Shaft Scored by TRD Exhaust Hanger:

Warning to those who have dumped their TRD duals, be sure to account for lateral movement of exhaust in relation to the rear propeller shaft as my local dealership refused warranty citing the modification of TRD exhaust.

So out with the old...and in with the new...Toyota P/N 37100-0C165

    upload_2022-2-7_12-9-14.jpg

With drive shaft out of the way...and a high speed grinder, I dressed the right angle of the hanger so no sharp corners.
    upload_2022-2-7_12-7-30.jpg

was searching for higher durometer exhaust bushings for a bit, said f'it and used old dorifto trick with hose clamp on existing rubber bushing. added zip tie in case hose clamp popped off, trimmed the excess tail off of the hose clamp afterwards.

    upload_2022-2-7_12-11-37.jpg

multiple trips down and no signs of issues...

Yes, you can fit 35's at stock ride height...

With the right modifications and part selection:

    As seen below:

    • Suspension full stock, with OEM alignment figures.
    • Wheels Method 701 - 18x9 +25 (offset is key)
    • Tires: Nitto Ridge Grappler 35x12.5r18
    • Coachbuilder Builder Spacers and a little bit of plastic molding.
    • Remove the front and rear flaps from front wheel well.
    • Body mount chop.

2022-02-12 Florence Kelvin Hwy to Gila River:

Fun way to spend a Saturday Afternoon, 30 miles of mixed driving...all of them good (well...we'll get to that later)

First Photo Stop, let the kids hop and and be kids...moments before this, there was a comment within the group of "what are these tundras doing on these narrow jeep trails"...to which Vizsla responded with "I'm a jeep!"

    Stop number Two...

Vizsla's truck garners a lot of attention from folks on the trail.

    Dave having some fun...

    upload_2022-2-13_12-47-6.jpg

    The bad...

Literally at the most mundane, slow speed spot of yesterday. I came over a mound to find a tiny section of a railroad tie in the trough...

which when rolling off, it dug into the dirt and jacked itself into the driver's rocker and door...

    time for repair and sliders...:benchpress:

Many thanks to Jake - TRDFerguson, Dave and Stacey - Vizsla for a great afternoon.

Been chipping away at the rear end rebuild…

Decided to add SDHQ traction bars to the rear…

After an unexpected and fairly heavy rain delay…

    Made some decent progress:

Driver’s frame rail ready to accept the new goodies.

Passenger’s frame also ready to accept the goods.

Before I get chastised for not having any rear shocks…the truck is not my daily and won’t be going anywhere until the shocks are in. Depending on my motivation, I might get to it this week…:fingerscrossed:

    Cheers!

How long did it take for you to get your rear shocks? I ordered the same kit back in February, they shipped the mounts right away but still haven't received the shocks.

i was amazed to learn they had them in stock when i placed my order this past labor day. I thought about the 2.5s or 3.0s… 3.0s were in stock so that settled it.
