I’ve read not all ODBII BT readers are compatible with the Dasaita unit. Although I do have a Veepeak one, it’s a different one.

I also use the Torque app and I don’t recall having a pairing issue, but I did have to uninstall and reinstall the torque app for it to safe my profile.

Yes, it works on my phone. Sent a message to Dasaita and the technician asked if other Bluetooth devices were connected to the head unit which I replied, yes, my phone.

Should I be able to have my phone connected and have an OBD II connected as well?

I use wireless CarPlay which I think uses Bluetooth lower power?

but I have both my phone and odb2 BT paired.

Just finished installing my Dasaita 10.2 tonight, and I'm loving Carplay so far. I use the wires method since I still have to figure out wireless and see if it works well or not. Rear cam works I'll post a pic up soon (not the greatest of quality but for 30$ I'm happy) will be adding front cam soon. One thing which I also see some people having concerns is fitment. Is there any way to get the top of the unit to sit tighter? I can pull it forward with no pressure and I'm thinking of putting some tape to thicken the clips or something.

I'm going to go back in this thread to read about the AGAMA launcher since I downloaded it but I need more info on configuring it. Also ordering some more usb inserts for the 2 extra wires I have.

Did you transfer the plastic clips from your OEM radio to the Dasaita radio?

I have not had any fitment issues with mine. It seems to be fairly tight.

I have my Dasaita for a year an half now and no issue with fitment. Yes, it's not secured by any screws, but it mine stayed intact.

I did not like the AGAMA launcher for some reason, but I can't remember what I do not like about it. I guess I have to enable it again and see.

No issues with fitiment. Recommend making sure all the clips were transferred over. Three on the top and two on the bottom of the unit. Once I got all the clips lined up from the other dash clips, climate control, etc. everything firmed up. No play at all.

I enjoy the AGAMA launcher. Only issue I see is the music player function. Will not display the names of the songs when playing tracks while in CarPlay.

Wireless CarPlay works great for me. Just make sure you have WiFi and Bluetooth turned on for your phone and head unit and link your phone via Bluetooth to the head unit. I notice the Zlink runs automatically on startup for me. Pretty awesome!

Ok guys, 2016 Platinum with JBL
installed the Dasaita 13.3 with Vivid.
-Used existing mounts, drilling one extra hole
-Vivid app update went to Chinese after downloading a few other apps.
-settings-car-factory settings-code 126 to get into canbus. I think our code is 116???? Others use 108????
-WiFi- keep getting wrong password for my network and iPhone network…. Other phone connects , but I have to set up every time I start the truck.
-usb didn’t work until unplug and RE plug .
    - installed front cam which is working (as rear???) and in the app, however rear cam is not working at all. looks awesome and I will check with dasaita about the issues.
    - didn’t have all speakers at one stage, however I think that was canbus setup. All good now.
-also forget to add the dasaita mic. You will need it.
    - used gps and USB adapters for existing plugs, ran the wired CarPlay and usb 2 through into the glovebox.

Just realized, this was the holes when attached to the original jbl using, however you can see where I drilled the hole that was required.

Has anyone found a USB dash port adapter that works with the 10.2 unit for the 2007 model Tundra? I don't have a factory USB port so I need the full insert.

yea I only had 2 clips one yellow one white, which makes me think the head unit was out in the past. I might end up buying more just in case . After a little finessing fitment looks fine now and doesn't push itself out.

So now that you have told me that, I have noticed it still works sometimes when I take it off the usb by itself, but it never starts working wirelessly automatically when I get in. Another thing I noticed which might just be a setting is when Carplay is working wirelessly I cant use the next track or previous track button on my steering wheel. But it works when my phone is plugged in via USB for Carplay.

im pretty sure there is a setting to start wireless CarPlay automatically. You may need to turn that on.
I also think I had the same issue with the buttons. I restarted my phone and it worked after that. Hasn’t been an issue since.

I found this thread and am reading and learning but I have sooo many questions.

How is the reliability of these, are they generally working reliably for most of you that have them?

Can I surf the internet by tethering off my phone? I would like to also download and use my home security camera app with it.

Is there any way to add satellite radio without using the internet or Sirius app? I like my XM radio on long road trips.

If I order from the Aliexpress store is it the right canbus or am I better to try and work through the Amazon store?

I still love my 10.2” Dasaita. It has its quirks at times, but for the most part it’s reliable.

I have not been able to get my hotspot from my phone to work, but I think it’s a security issue with Apple.

I don’t think Sirius XM is supported but I haven’t looked. I use Apple Music.

I purchased on Amazon and was told the wrong CANbus cable. So be careful and you may want to see what others with same year and trim as you have purchased.

Mine works but it doesn't sync right away. Actually, I just reconnected it last night, after a few failures, since 'upgrading' my ROM to Scout.

What is Scout or the Scout model, is it a NAV app or a OS?

Mines been reliable for a year. No real probs...just steep learning curve in some places for some hurdles. Check out Post #23 on my build for what I do for my SiriusXM PnP unit. I, too still love to use my PnP unit since it buffers. Just hit pause on live stuff, usually Howard, when I go into stores or before I hop in the rig to go somewhere. FYI, I tapped my PnP unit power to my fuse box/power seat so I could have constant power when the truck is off. Also, I use the AV-IN app to control the PnP unit. (BTW, sorry about some of the crappy pics. Found out afterwards that I had a cracked cam screen on my phone.)

Scout is the latest ROM on the newer HUs from Dasaita. Us OG folks have the Max10, which I like, then there's Vivid, which isn't so good and was recently removed as a launcher from the play store (it now points to Scout), then there's Scout, which is supposed to be the best and the one the developers are optimizing/improving. I think I pointed to some webpages and more info in previous posts on this thread. IMO and experience, don't upgrade ROMs and use the Agama car launcher. Best launcher out there.

Hey Ian. I should have said I use Torque, too, but it's the actual connection to BT that can sometimes be the PITA. Do you run lite or pro? I was messing w/ the gauges again last night and I really can't find a set up that I like/need. And, I'm not real creative so whatever I chose looks dumb the way I lay it out. I read the post about your screen. Can't believe it's doing that. You're a patient man. I could never deal w/ that OR temperatures that cold where you live. BTW, not sure if I ever told you but I got the back up cam working. Turns out there is a selection in one of the menus to allow it to work. Apparently, it was off. What a mess that was troubleshooting. Thanks for sending me so many pics and support!

I wonder if you have something behind the HU impeding your ability to push it all the way back. I literally must have pulled it out and put it back in 15-20x trying to get the rear cam to work on reverse and I never had a problem with all the clicks to get it fully seated where there is zero gap.

I've ordered the tailgate back up camera and the 10.2 Dasaita Head Unit. I would like to have my camera come on whenever I want, not when I put the truck in reverse. My question is where do I get power for the camera? Is there a thread on here that details installing the camera? I am pretty familiar with installing the new tailgate handle, it is running the wires and connecting them that I am unsure about.

If you don’t have a factory camera that you’re wiring into the original harness, most cameras would probably wire up to the revers lights I think. But in your case I would think constant power from the trailer hitch would be best for power.

how are you wiring up the backup camera to turn on too? Are you splitting the signal or is there another way I’m not thinking of?

The master tailgater came with a short black and red to wire in the back, and a RCA cable to run by itself up to the head unit. If I tap the red and black into to the tail light or trailer hitch would that supply the power needed to then view the camera from the head unit, without the truck being in reverse?
