Sounds like a plan. 3D printers are amazing machines with what they can do.

What about an Option C bring your own bulb kit so we don't have to pay the ridiculous VLED's prices?

From the OP - "The HotTails kits will be based fully on VLEDS architecture which is not the cheapest LED option on the market. They are the current king in terms of output intensity, and are the only current manufacturer of a dual-filament red 921 LED bulb which is a critical component to making this work."

If someone comes out with another option that allows for the same functionality (and is quality) we will certainly consider it. We looked into getting our own bulbs made as well, but I assure you that we do not have the bankroll to float that

Okay, I had done a search for a 921 switchback bulb and it was showing some options, but once I actually got into them, they aren't as advertised.

Bummer. Well I can always just do a DIY tail as turn. That's fairly inexpensive. Some people don't like cutting factory harnesses but I could care less about that.

Ha....you're paying for quality. They are not that expensive when you are driving a $40K plus truck.

They are like the Baja Designs of tail lights. They are not worth as much as they charge.

Have you seen BD compared to other lights? There's definitely a difference in quality and output.

Lol. Many of us don't have an issue with the price. It's reliability and better than AutoZone or Amazon bulbs.

I ran cubes from Amazon for years with zero issues. Maybe BD has more output, but I don't see what I would need more for. What I had lit up trails like crazy.

I don't have an issue with paying for quality, if it's necessary. But in these instances it really isn't. I can get far better value with something else and performance that is close enough as to not matter.

So go buy it? Okie doke then.
As a personal thing, I ordered these because the stocks imo look fine but are crap config and brightness. Looked at aftermarket replacements (spyder type) but whenever I see aftermarket ones like that on a Tundra I think they look dumb af, like a high schooler riced it out. To each their own.:notsure:

Well these look great and I'm sure the quality of the additional harness stuff is a nice to have. I don't need to upgrade the housing. Just some LED lights instead of halogen would be nice. A tail as turn is just an extra thing but not necessary. Not sure what I'll do yet. I'm good with electronics so I don't mind tearing into harnesses myself.

I just installed the HotTails Option A from Hotshot Offroad this past weekend. These are not going to be the cheapest on the market to be sure. When I received them, the box was opened by the gentleman that received it for me due to my error with my address, so I looked at what I got right away. The quality in workmanship with the pigtails was impeccable and was even labeled for the place it goes. It took me maybe 45 minutes to install and test both sides. Very simple install.
To say that I am happy with them is a gross understatement. If I were any happier, I would be orgasmic. The taillights are now all four lenses and a brighter than stock tail lights. The brake lights are also all four lenses and are really bright! The backup light and turn signals are a switchback - white reverse and amber turn signal. Both are significantly bright. With hazard lights and reverse at the same time the switchback is the amber flashing turn signals not the backup light.
In short, I'm very happy with how these turned out. I could not be happier with Colton (@memario1214) and his expertise at Hotshot Offroad! Thank you, Colton!

Thank you. Thanks for the LED Fog Lights! I'm planning on installing them this weekend. BTW, you were correct about the Option B Hottails.

    Option B.

Simple straight forward install and now extremely please with the end results!

If there was a hard part it would be getting under the truck for the trailer harness adapter and zip tying the wires up under there. But it still only took just a few minutes.

It looks great and appears OEM, you'll only know something is different if you know ;)

I think I captured most of the combinations in the video. Let me know if you have any questions!

I would move those resistors to a metal surface. They need to be clear of all plastic surfaces and wiring.

I stuck mine in the same spot for option A. Will they get hot enough to melt the plastic?

They can get pretty warm at times. I would move them. They sell the really strong VHB tape at Lowes.

Incredible. Everything I could have asked for on an install overview. Thank you!

Looks like everything is working swimmingly as well! That reminds me... I might need to start including a few zip-ties for folks to tidy-up wiring. I see that you have that coiled bundle on the driver's side. Did you have a bunch on the passenger's as well? We left it longer because I was concerned with how people would want to route everything, especially if they have an aftermarket bumper or something like that.

Notes to self - Include zip ties & review all wire lengths.

Notes for everyone else - Instead of the blue and yellow coming off of the trailer connections that @adr0ck6 has on his kit the color scheme has changed to Hotshot Red/Black . Don't worry, all wires are labeled so that you know what goes where. I feel that it's pretty intuitive as things will only plug in one place, but we'll try to get an instruction of some kind out. All of you in here can hit me up at any time if you have questions though!

Should resistors be mounted on a metal surface, yes. Will it cause a problem? Likely not in this case just due to the intermittent nature of the turn signal. Where do I mount mine? Truck body.
Yessir! Once it was looking like everything was A-OK that would be the 2nd truck I know running a kit successfully so we pulled the trigger on the Tundras.com orders! :D
