@PGP03 be very careful with the Mr Buddy heater. Carbon Monoxide poisoning is not good. Consider venting or tossing in a little battery powered carbon monoxide detector.

Looking for some help with these dimensions on a 2005 Double Cab Tundra. The pic is not my truck, but want to start making some drawings for a camping setup. I won't have access to my truck till 2 months later, but want to start planning. Thanks for your help.

I’ve had the camper on a Nissan Frontier for about 7 years, upgraded to a Tundra this fall. Love the truck!

I have started the research on doing a significant camping project in the bed of my 2020 tundra. i have the long bed (77" / 6'5" ) and a ARE topper. This is the video that inspired me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNvNla_sRAo

i'm not a word worker....at all. but, i have a neighbor who is that is helping me with the design. any help from this group would be greatly appreciated...as always.

interestly enough that bed of the truck is so huge i can fit a standard size twin mattress in there and still have 40% of the truck available for a cubby and sitting room. and i can go up to 18" in the height of the mattress (with drawer system underneith) and sitting on top of it i have plenty of head room.

 

FWIW- I love my @Decked set up. I've had a little over a year and don't regret it one bit. It's so smooth and functional and works exactly what I need it for.
I will be looking at rigging up a utility trailer to house the RTT and carry toys like kayaks, 4wheeler, dirt bike etc. Hopefully pics to come this spring!

 

The foot prints inside the storage bin are a serious turn off! I am a wood worker, so I noticed the router burns on the side pockets, and generally poor finish on all the edges. Just sayin'...

So I kinda understand but then I don’t. Why not just bring a 20lb tank?

 

Space and convenience mainly. A 5lb alone would be plenty sufficient for my typical weekend expedition needs and likely closer to a week unless I heat water to shower. Second one will stay at home on standby so I don't have to worry about filling the first one all the time. Or it will be there if I really need that much for a week long trip.

I really hate hauling my 20lber and I hate bringing it unless I have my fire pit. These are four inches thinner and I could maybe fit one on the side of my bed box. I also hate keeping track of 1lb bottles.

 

Yeah I totally see the advantage of not having all the stupid green canisters everywhere. I’ll have to look more into them

 

That's a good price for those? I don't even think I paid that much for my 20lb tanks. I buy mine from U-Haul and refill them there.

 

U-Haul's equivalent is $70 and doesn't have a gauge.

20lb tanks are also free if you work in apartments after people move out.

throw the 3” foam mattress topper on the platform , most of the camp gear in the 2 pullouts and off I go . Plano storage bins for larger items and fishing gear. Yeti cooler for cold items . Magnetic lights from Home Depot I found work great instead of hard wiring lights .
