Since the bed is a composite, plastic type material, is it necessary to get a spray on bed liner as there does not appear to be paint that can be scratched up? Dont have to be concerned about rust...maybe can save $500!

    Thanks
    Ron

Spray in liner is not not needed, but I got the rubber mat when I had my Tacoma otherwise you have to tie everything down or it will slide all over the place.

As stated, no, you don't need it. But will probably want something depending on what you are using the bed for.

I can’t believe I dealt with the slick as ice composite bed in my Taco for so many years without a bed mat. I wouldn’t get a spray liner, but I’d definitely get the mat unless you want a slick bed to aid loading/unloading items….

Bed mat will be my choice if I elect to buy a new Tundra.

Sometimes I want to be able to slide big heavy objects in the bed since I will be using a ratchet strap to secure them in place. The ease of loading and unloading makes the slick bed an advantage. When I don’t want a slip-n-slide back there I’ll put the bed mat down.

When I had my Tacomas the bed mat was mandatory for me. Shit slides like it's on ice on that composite bed without it.
