Just installed the in dash mounted 9" Dasaita, works great.. a few complaints..
    1. I have the Scout OS, and there is a yellow floating S that I can't turn off. It's the same as home button. It covers other more important buttons, so it needs to go. Ideas?
    2. The main home screen has the scouts map software on split screen. Can I use Google maps or Waze without changing the launcher?
    3. The mount has a 1/8" gap at the top to the dashboard. Looks terrible. Maybe the climate control needs to push it up more. Ideas?

I had the Phoenix android radios, and the software and hardware of the Dasaita is.much better.

    Thank you!

    No problem!
You can definitely use the OE handle, as this is what that company does when you buy the HD cam. I now have an OEM handle with a custom bracket holding the new HD camera in place, with connectors that allow you to use existing factory wiring (should your vehicle come with a factory backup camera).
I'm sure you can swap over just the camera, but you'll need to either mesh the new camera wiring with the factory wiring or run new wiring from the camera to the back of the head unit.
The bracket holding the camera in place utilized a nut that is in the plastic of the OE handle, so in theory you could use the handle that you have...but just cut a piece of metal into a "L" bracket to hold the camera in place.

Thx for sharing. Unfortunately, for me, I haven't been able to find a quick, HD upgrade for a Gen 2 Sequoia. Would rather plug into the existing wiring as opposed to running/fishing new.

Beautiful! Is it that good at night? My SD image looks pretty good in the day and horrible at night. Its so grainy and the brightness coming from the HU doesn't help. I figured out how to turn down the brightness (and volume) automatically when backing up but its still real hard to see the image.

Scout stinks but its better than Vivid and nothing is better than the AGAMA launcher (IMHO). Regarding your questions, no, you cannot ditch the yellow floating S. It's there for your convenience (I hate it too). For a year I did just fine by hitting the home button at the upper/left corner, or more easily, by the long press select button on my steering wheel that I programmed. The home screen is what it is. Only way to use your own GPS is to select the app (I linked Google Maps to the Nav button on the HU). For mine, when I enter a location on the default GPS it automatically opens Google Maps in full screen. I'm pretty sure the home/split screen shows the default GPS when I minimize Maps. I don't have a gap, but I have a Gen 2 Sequoia. Don't recall any Tundra folks complaining of a gap so it might not be seated as intended.

After only a few days with Vivid I went to Scout and after a few days with Scout I went back to AGAMA. One thing that really bothers me about Scout is that the screen blanks for a few seconds every few minutes. Never saw it in Max 10/AGAMA. Do you experience the blank screens? If you got your HU w/ Scout it might be fine. I updated the ROM from Max 10 so maybe that's it.

Since you have an 08, you might be able to use this:
2007-2009 TUNDRA HD CAMERA KIT WITH OEM WIRING HARNESS | Tailgatecamera.com

It's obviously not the tailgate version for the Tundra... but the version that you would install above the license plate. BUT you should be able to retain the use of the factory wiring. I would check the picture of the connector in that link vs the one on your truck.

Thanks! Liking it so far. It takes some getting used to... between the larger screen and better picture quality - it throws you off being able to actually see a clear picture via the BU Cam.
TBH, I haven't really checked since it's a recent install. I'll check this evening if I remember and get a picture with the lights in the garage off.

If this is what your camera assembly looks like, you might be able to just pull out the OEM SD Cam and splice in a new HD camera. Many of the new HD BU cameras are square and probably the same size. Might take some creativity, but I would think the upgrade is very doable.

Hi I am about to install my Dasaita, did you get the rear speakers to work, and what model number of the canbus did you use, and also what were the settings to get the steering wheel control and if possible the TPMS? Would love to see some of your installed pics. I have 2020 tundra non-jbl, but with amp under the passenger sear. TRD Offroad package.

I just installed the 13 inch screen in my 16 tundra. Couple of issues I have run into so far, none of my usbs work. This includes the oem one that is hooked up to the purple plug with the adapter.

Excited to get my 10.2 unit. Shipping is taking a while though for them to just to ship it out since I ordered it on Monday. Not sure if they just don't update the shipping notifications or they actually have not shipped it but I was working with Mia from Dasaita website since they were out on Amazon for the one I was looking for.

I can let you know about the rear camera I bought for my sequoia from amazon and if it works well once i get everything installed if you dont have one yet: its this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H852D49?smid=A2NSW7I84R1UNL&th=1 bought 2 one for front and one
    for rear

I have the oem back up cam and oem monitor but after hooking everything up nothing worked since my sequoia didnt come with backup camera something might have just been bad. So I just opted to get an aftermarket camera to make things simpler.

Check all the connections. Unseat and reseat them. If that doesn't work, unit could bad. It happens.

Just figured this out and posting for those who may not know: to turn the screen off while you're driving, just swipe down and long press the "brightness" icon. instead of bringing up the brightness slider, the screen will just turn off. it'll turn back on if you tap the screen or raise/lower the volume either on the unit or the steering wheel controls.

one other issue i'm experiencing is that when I'm in CarPlay and I press "next song" on the steering wheel, all of a sudden the carplay music mixes in with the radio. anyone else experiencing this and know how to resolve it?

Did not know that about the brightness! Thanks.

I haven’t had that issue with CarPlay and the next button. I just started getting a “popping” coming from my sub at times. And actually had this happen and all my speakers stopped working until I turned my truck off and then back on.

I seem to get a few of these oddball things that happen a few times, and then not again.

Also, does anyone know of a good way to mirror your phone? I still can’t get my phone to hotspot with this radio so I want to try mirroring it instead.

Im kind of interested in this. How does it work is there a program on the headunit it records to and saves, or does it just save all to the microsd card?

It’s a USB so it should record to an SD card on the unit itself. You plug it into one of the USB ports from the radio for power. It should work with an app on the radio to view settings and watch/save/delete video files.

If you want to get a particular video file, remove the SD card and insert into your PC.

still no luck on the usbs. They sent me another unit, plugged it all up and the touch screen wasn’t working properly so I couldn’t even set it up. I put the old one back in. Still waiting on a response from them.

Just got my unit in, its the 10.2 and so far so good but had to wait till tomorrow to finish install.

So far I had to hack up my oem rear view camera cover by drilling a hole through the cover and positioning the natika rear view camera on it. Running the wires for the rear camera is going to be fun since normally ive never had to tap into any wires with other installs.

The first pic is how I first set it up but It was a fail because I put it on backwards then the other pics are correct on the truck

    C87A34E5-A3FC-4F17-90CF-4A8731458DE4.jpg00B0BA59-1B4B-4D8D-A85D-9512BF8F4D79.jpg E6AEE791-4ADE-4F68-87BD-0FF8C346C875.jpg

Also I have a 2010 sequoia SR5 and i have the oem USB and Aux port in one but i dont see a connection to connect that into. Is there a wire I need to buy to keep that. If I cant keep it thats fine but then I assume im going to need another USB port to switch it out with.

I'm sure I will have more questions but so far this thread has helped alot already with the install but thanks in advance.

I removed the USB and Aux port from my center console as they didn’t hook up to anything. I pulled the square plastic piece out and replaced it with a blank one.

there are other USB ports that should fit those spots and which you can plug the other USB ports from the radio in. I just left them by the footwell as I swapped out my 12V ports for USB before the radio.

im using one USB for my dash cam and plan on using the other for a hard drive anyway.

Temperature dropped below 0°F the last couple of days. It goes back to normal when it get closer to noon time when the sun peaks out of the clouds.

Yes, this is my second winter with this system. Also, the feel was -24°F.

Have the Dasaita 10.2” Head Unit and I cannot get my Veepak OBD II reader and it will not connect to my head unit. The head unit sees Veepak, but it never connects. Tried downloading another Bluetooth Pairing app, but that did not help either. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a different OBD2 diagnostic scan tool and uses Torque. Try uninstalling the app and reinstalling it. Does it work on your phone?
