I ordered one last week and installed it by myself yesterday in about 30 minutes on my 2013 DC. I meant to remove the rear bedrail to have that extra 1/4 to 1/8 inch for the Access Toolbox bed cover that I ordered too. But it installed perfectly fine with all three bed rails in place.

This box fit and I hooked the install clamps to the side rails. Box hangs over the edge of the plastic bed rail caps by about a half inch on both sides. Not a deal breaker for me and not sure if a metal box would not be over this edge by the exact same amount.

Can not believe that DECKED.COM does not market this thing for the fact that, unlike about every other toolbox, you can mount it right against the back of the bed. On most other toolboxes the lid would hit the window when you open it. This one opens straight up within the edge of the box.

Also my picture of the ladder is inaccurate. I did not notice until I took the picture and stood on the step and it moved. I realized that I did not lock the 3 steps in place. You can stand much higher on the steps and easily reach items in the bottom of the box.

I really like the box and tray that come with the box, nice touch. As in several other reviews, I have not been able to close it from the passenger side and have the driver side latch engage. I did remove the small piece of Styrofoam from the inside latch and it still will not completely close from one side. But you have to walk to the driver's side anyway to lock the box so for me it is not an issue.
01/13/22 UPDATE - Not sure if it is from use, sitting in the sun, getting settled in my truck, etc. But THE BOX LID NOW CLOSES FROM EITHER SIDE AND BOTH SIDES LATCH ON THE FIRST TRY. Not doing anything special. Just shutting the box lid and it closes and catches both latches regardless of which side of the truck I am on the first try. I did not work on it or anything. Think it just needed to be broken in and used.

I like having the ladder of the passenger side for when I have to access the box on the side of the road. Being on the passenger side it keeps me out of traffic.

It is a REALLY WELL BUILT/DESIGNED box. Watertight and will not rust or dent.

10% Military Discount and Made In USA!

I ordered it and it was delivered within a week. YOU MUST BE HOME TO SIGN FOR AND INSPECT IT WHEN IT IS DELIVERED. I made contact with the shipping company and they delivered mine to my place of work.

Glad I found your post. I want to get the Decked Tool Box for my off road recovery gear to free up my back seat. I wasn't sure if my bed rails would get in the way. I like having the tie downs on them.

    Thanks for posting pictures!

Does it feel pretty secure from theft?

Yes. Definitely as secure or more secure that most metal boxes.
Resin gives some and has metal backing. So between the give and support it works better in my opinion.
Decked has a video that shows a guy prying on it for a little bit and it does not give.
Pretty sure that unless they spent hours trying to pry in, they would not get in.
But if they used and angle grinder they could probably cut the corners off and be in the box.
However, most thieves don't want to make a lot of noise so probably very unlikely scenario.

Make sure you watch the install video.
Video has some good advice, but it leaves out important info if you have bed rails.
BUT ALSO GO FURTHER DOWN THE PAGE THE VIDEO IS ON.
The video does NOT explain how to install with our deck rails.
You can not get the clamps to work like the guy in the video says they will work.
Very frustrating. I sat with my laptop in the bed of the truck for an hour trying to get it to work.
FINALLY I SCROOLED DOWN TO FIND CONTACT INFO TO CALL DECKED.
3/4 way down page, under the video, were the directions for installing with bed rails.
You have to take the clamps apart to use with a bed rail.

Thank you for the heads up about the clamps. I would have been out there for a couple of days and maybe have to pull out the beer. Lol.

How far up do you think the box goes up passed the top of the bed near the rear window? Trying to picture how much of my rear window will be blocked. I have my business decal on there. May need to move it.

Does it hold alot of items? I may need to lay out my gear and measure to see if it all will fit.

    Thanks!

I can get you one

I've been shopping one myself to clean up some of the gear that I carry, but I am still trying to finalize what my bed situation is going to look like long-term.

You have taken enough of my money and I still need to get tires from you.

    How much is it though?

    I'll shoot you a PM.

MSRP on these though is $750 without a ladder or $900 with.

Would be even cooler if there’s a partial length rolling tonneau cover that integrates with the box.

Price on the website. Same as a high end Cam Locker.
But unlike most metal boxes, whose lids hit the window, this mounts directly against to rear of the bed and opens without hitting the rear window.

They have a 10% off military/first responder discount on the website.

Yeah I'm liking the way it looks back there in the bed. I may have to relocate my decals. Which is okay. I know a guy that can do it. Will definitely use the Military discount.

do you have that link where you were talking about the installation issue? I've been looking around their site. Is it the written instruction manual you're talking about?

    Thanks!

I am using the Access rolling toolbox bed cover. It is "leatherish".
My box and cover put me back about 1,500.

I saw a this one. Costs a fortune but includes the tool box on the Leonardaccesories.com

Sorry, I got confused. Had a few beers installing the box and the cover.
I just went all over the site and could not find it either.
IT WAS THE COVER I was thinking about with the clamps.
The box was nothing to install.
    Sorry about that.
    Box went right in.
The cover I ordered came with a good piece of weather stripping for the "bulkhead" that is what they call the back of the truck bed. It really made the area between the back of the bed and the box waterproof. I removed the rear bed rail before installing the box. You can't reach it once the box is installed and I wanted the box as tight as possible against the rear of the bed. Might want to get one if you need the bed to be waterproof.
I put flex seal tape over the bottom of the 4 mounting slots on each side of the box.
Figure it will keep dirt, water and rodents out of the box.
Just don't do what I did.
I put it on and then slid it down the bed rail into place.
Tape caught and smeared that sticky glue all down the textured plastic top of the Toyota bed rail covers.

The discount gets you on the GovX program.
Lots more products to chose from too. Like Oakleys, Under Armor, all kinds of popular products.

Yeah I used GovX. I think I still have some credit I need to use. I got my ESS sunglasses and my DDT backpacks recently. ESS has contract with the Marines so they're ballistic grade. Been wearing them for years and like them. The DDT backpacks is my go to for camping, hiking, fishing, anything outdoors. Has my med kit, binoculars, gps, range finder, etc.
