I actually did try NOVA launcher but Scout keeps getting in the way. I.e. you can use NOVA as a launcher on top of a launcher, but if you hit let's say a "home" button then you go back to scot and not Nova. I did read on the dasaita forums that you could uninstall the scout and install a different launcher that would accomodate NOVA and 3rd party launchers, but I don't think I'm confident enough for THAT yet

I haven’t yet, but will certainly try the launcher first. Didn’t realize that was available. I’m new to Android so not sure what I’m doing, but learning along the way!
I also added an Atoto dash cam and hooked it up to the USB. It came with the app loaded, so all I had to do was find it in the file explorer and install. I was having trouble ordering the Dasaita one online. Ordered this one from Amazon and got it in two days.

I just tried screen mirroring with “air screen” app. It worked ok when both phone and radio were on home WiFi. But not when they weren’t. I haven’t been able to get the head unit to get on my phones hotspot.

I also installed the Vivid launcher which I think is very close to the Dasaita vivid rom?

is there a way to have the head unit automatically connect to my phones hot spot so I can use apps like chrome and still have the wireless CarPlay work?

hopefully what I’m saying above makes sense?

Yea I don't have a hotspot so I'm trying to mirror with the HDMI. From what I can tell the wifi is always off when the HU starts up. Maybe try tasker app to automatically turn it on when Bluetooth connects?

I’m trying to do all this wirelessly but maybe I’m asking too much?

i typically use CarPlay, but I’d like to use screen mirroring to watch movies or bring up YouTube app.

I haven’t tried RCA or the HDMI ports.

If your phone has a hotspot you can just connect with the HU and download the apps you want. No need to mirror. The only way to mirror wirelessly that I know of is if you have mobile wifi or if your phone has hotspot.

I can see my phones hotspot, but when I enter in the password it tells me it failed to connect. I think I found something online that says it doesn’t like wireless CarPlay (uses low power WiFi) and WiFi at the same time.

failure to connect is supposedly an issue with phone hotspot/wifi using WPA3 security setting for the password. you can either try a firmware update or manually input your wifi/hotspot ssid and password but set the security to WPA2. some people have had success with it, some haven't

I’m going to try using Bluetooth tomorrow as well. See if that works.
I also have an issue where when I’m trying to connect to my home WiFi, my zlink app keeps trying to open and connecting to my phone.

oh I'm pretty sure I had that issue with zlink too. i had to go into my phones wifi connections and look for the ssid of the headunit that it uses for wireless carplay/android auto and turn off auto-join on it.

Zlink has been fine for me. I got mirroring to work via easy connect app. Not ideal, but I guess it's what I have ATM. Going to best buy to pick up a powered RCA to HDMI converter today to see if the issue was the one I bought on Amazon. Got hotspot going with pdanet+ since my carrier doesn't allow hotspot without an extra plan.

Maybe I’m just dumb, but I can’t get this thing to hotspot for me. I also tried doing Bluetooth network sharing and that’s not working.

ultimately what I’m wanting to do is have zlink (wireless CarPlay) work most of the time. But also be able to open YouTube or chrome as well.
I’m sure it’s possible, but I’m just not getting it.

That's one thing I can't get to work. If Zlink is running the hotspot stuff goes stupid for some reason. That could be because I'm using wifi direct with pdanet+ for the hotspot. I don't have a real hotspot so can't say on that. You'd think that would work fine though.

Ok. I'm pulling this thing tomorrow and refunding it through Amazon. Can't even use the Android auto navigation and listen to the radio at the same time. Every time google gives a direction it turns Pandora on. I can look past a lot of the glitchy stuff, but that's a deal breaker

That sucks. I don’t use Android Auto or the Navigation. I use Apple CarPlay. Haven’t had that type of issue.

I was going to do the VIVID rom but found out on XDA that there a lot of problems w/ the ROM. Went w/ the VIVID Launcher app from Google Play. Didn't like it. Also, don't like the Max 10. I went straight to the AGAMA launcher and I LOVE IT! Nothing compares. Recently learned that Dasaita put out the ROMS for Max 10, VIVID, and Scout. They are all interchangeable on the PX6. Decided to install the Scout ROM yesterday. Less than impressed when compared to AGAMA. I'm going to fight thru it for a bit before I return to AGAMA. Here's some pics of Scout and last two are Android Auto. Not sure if I had the ability w/ the Max 10 but I was finally able to figure out wireless AA using Scout. There are still some issues/bugs w/ Scout that I'm not sure others noted.

    - Major one is every few minutes the screen goes blank for a few seconds and sometimes audio doesn't come thru in AA.
    - Some gripes are the inability to quickly get to apps like I can on the AGAMA launcher...last pic.

    Thanks for the info!

I also downloaded the Vivid launcher and Agama. The Vivid required lots of settings and changed my BT Name. I like the Agama as well, but it still reverts back to the Max 10 radio when selected. Any way to change that?

I use CarPlay 90% if the time anyway. But I’ll probably pay the $3 or so for the agama and set it as home.

What version of Zlink has wireless AA in Scout? The version that came with my MAX10 doesn't support wireless. It seems like they turn it on/off as the versions advance and I want it! Phone charges much faster from the 12v port than the wired AA connection.

Also any info on "how to switch to Scout ROM for a newb" would be appreciated, I find xda hard to follow. More of a nuts and bolts kind of guy.

Would love to know if you find out. Are you aware of the XDA forums for our units? If not I'll look for some links to share a little later today.

I have APK version 4.0.32. It doesn't state wireless AA but it works. Not sure if you know, but just found out after a year of using the HU, that once on Vlink settings there's a bunch of key codes you can make. You can scroll below it for more options (Pic Below). I also went into AA on my S21+ and selected wireless AA in the menu. Take a look and see if you can get it working otherwise I will try to getting some guidance later on today/tomorrow. TBT, I just fooled around until I got it working. FYI - I can't seem to get it to stop connecting now. I love wireless AA but I don't use it all the time due to lack of access to other apps. You cannot switch between AA and phone hotspot to access other apps on HU. Agree w/ the fast charging by going wireless. The slow charger couldn't keep up w/ my phone's needs for long trips!

I'll post some links later today on how to get to the good stuff on XDA. You're right - impossible to search in the forums. I do my XDA searches in google and it usually gets me to where I want to go.

EDIT: I turned off Auto Reconnect in Vlink and it seems to be working...for now.

Hey all, so I got my canbus adapter in the mail today finally for my dasaita 10.2 for my 2021 tundra non JBL. I originally tried the CB004 canbus but quickly found out that it wasn’t the right one. Dasaita’s Amazon seller shipped me the correct canbus adapter.

Only issue I have which is a show stopper for me is that the audio is horrible. Not static or anything like a bad connection, it’s pretty much only coming from the from center. 0 bass, just all treble. When I play with the fade I noticed it’s not coming through the side speakers at all. At least the front side speakers. Anyone else have this issue?
