So now that the new Silverado ZR2 has been announced at $66,795 including destination charge, I am betting there is no way Toyota comes in under $65k for the new TRD Pro, thoughts?

I didn’t think people were still thinking it was going to be less already…. I mean a limited in the 64-65k range, then add the fact the pro these past few years is a already a few grand more then the limited models, but now add the engine/hybrid difference and yah more then a few k difference this year.

I just cant understand the prices are getting crazy. I can order a Raptor at MSRP from a local dealer for $65k and change, vastly superior truck than the TRD Pro and ZR2, bigger tires, long travel suspension, etc…

Is the Raptor superior to the ZR2 or just different? I see the ZR2 as more of a rock crawler than a Baja dune basher.

As far as off roading goes, it has wide body long travel suspension, and I think fox live shocks. Where as the zr2 has dssv shocks with the same stock control arms as a regular Silverado. The zr2 does have front lockers tho.

the zr2 offers more on paper than the pro. Dssv shocks, front and rear lockers, and with the new interior, I’m sure it will have equal to or better tech. If anything the pro should be less, but I’m sure it won’t be tho. And also the you will probably get better deals and incentives on the zr2 like all other gm trucks, that is if they plan to make plenty of them and not just a limited number. The pro will probably be hard to find and you’ll be lucky to get it at msrp, let alone anything off. Hope I’m wrong tho.
Back before all the supply issues, the msrp never really meant anything on the gm, because most folks knew they could always get a few thousand off. It’s usually not like that with tundras. When bought my Sierra back in 2019, the sticker was 57k and I got it for 42k, (volume dealer Everett). A 57k tundra would have probably sold close to sticker, or maybe a couple grand off if you got a deal.

Also Raptor has more HP, more torque, better MPG, 35’s vs 33’s (price out some 35’s right now), 5 link rear suspension vs leaf springs. For what you get the Raptor offers way more for the money.

The raptor is one of the only trucks that you can buy and not feel like you have to go out and buy new tires just to make it look right. The zr2 and pro look like they have training wheels. If I get the pro, tires will be the first thing I do.

TFL already did their 2022 Limited 4x4 vs a 2022 Raptor drag race. It’s crude but really showed that a base 3.5TT Toyota is already keeping up with the high end raptor.

Tundra won…by a few feet. (it was on 33’s raptor on 37’s)

Put both trucks on 35’s and we’ll see what the TRD Pro really offers for $70K against the competition.

BTW Ram TRX’s are going for $90k-> $120,000

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
If the TRD Pro is much over $63K it’s going to be over priced.

In general the new Tundra is already over priced. Low value for the money for sure. I think Toyota will have tough time moving them once the novelty wears off.

Based on the prices we're seeing for a higher end gas only Limited the Pro will probably be low $70k. My dealer is guestimating $72 - $75. Welcome to the new world I guess.

Raptor at 65? LoL. Not in the real world. I went shopping and have looked at all the big 3 and the Tundra. The Raptor was 12500-20k over MSRP, not as quick as reputation and I had knobs and other things fall off on 2 test rides. Not as bad as a year ago Explorer search for buds spouse..real quality there..yikes!

At that price it’s simply not worth the money compared to competitors.

There are dealers doing under MSRP if you are willing to travel.

My biggest gripe with the Raptor is that it is useless for actual truck things. I realize this is due to the suspension, but the payload and tow capacity are really low.

    Yep.
Power Wagon’s payload is 1500 lb.
    TRD Pro’s is 1400.
    ZR2’s is 1440.

If you want tricked out off-road suspension, expect low payload ratings.

No idea why anyone would throw so much money at a Pro. Didn't make sense with the 2.5 gen version either.

Most of the other Tundras we've seen have about 1400 lbs, too, though.

In 2016 the Pro was reasonable. I got my Pro for $45,000, the SR5 I was looking at was $41,000, but the time I would've added the leather, exhaust, and level that the pro already came with, I would've been over the price of the pro.

If you order and are willing to wait 3-4 months for it to be built you can get a base Raptor at MSRP, I had a dealer locally in GA tell me I could get one with an April delivery if I ordered today, no mark up over MSRP.

We got our first allocation on a 22 Pro. The MSRP is 69,278 for all those wondering where pricing will be. The only accessories added on were spray in bed liner ($579) and bed lettering ($199).

And sorry guys it's not for sale. Just posting for pricing purposes.

Other than an upgraded pair of shocks, what exactly does the pro have that other well eqipped trims dont, to justifify the 70k msrp?
