    Payload is simple. It's the amount if weight you can put on the truck. Whether that is passengers, anything in the bed, any tongue weight, and all added items.

    The truck has a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of X and an actual weight of Y.

    X minus Y equals payload. That's it.

    Ignore what is marketed or advertised. Weigh your truck and subtract that from the GVWR. That's how much you can add without exceeding payload.

    No truck ever matches up to the advertised weight ratings.

    Yep, too bad they don't do that for the number they slap on the inside of your door jamb. Wonder if the dealer will let me stop at a scale if I take one on a test drive?

    Comparing a member's '22 Platinum CC 4x4 to my friend's '19 Platinum CC 4x4 payload it's about a 9.5% increase (net gain of 125 lbs):

    '19 = 1,185 lbs.
    '22 = 1,310 Lbs.
