At this point I feel like I'm spamming the forums but still cannot get an answer.

Have an issue where the VSC light comes on often and randomly when driving in straight line with no wheel hop or skidding. Very frustrating.

Want to find a tool to help id the source of the warning light. Is wheel spin logged as a fault code? Is there a tool that I can use to look at live data for multiple sensors associated with the VSC to find out what's sending the errant alarm? Would do techstream but looking for alternates that don't involve borrowing windows laptops.

    Any advice?

full diagnostic tool.. autozone, oreilly and the likes... just watch them operate the tool closely... they'll come up with something like your truck is not stored in the system cuz they opted for the Domestic market instead of Asian... its probably a C code.. A basic obd2 probably wont get it.

Here's the problem though. The light comes on as I'm driving, it doesn't stay on.
Can I presume that a warning from the VSC computer telling me "you're out of control man!" as I drive in a straight line won't register as an actual code? I doubt autozone will hop in the car with me to take a drive.

Any advice on the bidirectional obd tool to use?

Computer will have a code stored whether they want to ride or not... I personally took the leap of faith on a Bluedriver bluetooth reader since my old OBD2 reader wouldn't read codes when my VSC was flashing, but the blue driver got it...there are other options but I wanted this one, cuz I was going to buy a beemer and hang myself.

To clarify, you had VSC flash to let you know you were (unbeknonst to you) doing donuts in the CVS parking lot and the bluedriver pulled a stored code? Did it tell you what component caused the code?

    How's the trouble free beemer?

LMAO... I opted for the hard pass on that trouble-free beemer....
VSC problem for me was for zero point calibration, just by turning the truck on, its still stock and I had not touch any suspension component whatsoever nor brakes....... had a CEL, but that was for a dirty throttle body...

Shame, I had a 2011 VW GTI where the vanity light wouldn't go on and the design called for the troubleshooting of two in-series momentary switches, the fuse and 1600 dollars of removing the headliner in order to diagnose. German cars are ace.

I don't think I can relate to your VSC fault. The PO had a level kit where the front sat 2" higher than the rear. So far I replaced the front coils and shocks and removed the spacers, also replaced all four wheel speed sensors and did the ZPC. VSC still kicking on randomly but not staying on. It's 150 for dealer to run diagnostics and 250 for a bidirectional scanner tool. Dammit...

I went to O'reillys for their diagnostic tools, cuz it was free99, it was a big ass one, I think its the Bosch ADS 525... my inova OBD reader wouldn't scroll down and showed 2 codes, so I took it to them while I waited for my new one, so theirs showed me 6 different codes.. of course they opted for Domestic market and couldn't find Toyota and asked me if I had imported the vehicle.... so I asked them to go back and go Asian and there it was, but got pending codes along with other codes.... yours may be an overstretch speed sensor that may have been damaged with the installed leveling kit that may be flashing at you at certain speeds and angles......

10-4. I'll call around and see if they have a reader for the ultra-rare Japanese black market import Toyota Tundra. Very rare. Very mysterious vehicle.
Might just bite the bullet... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WDGY9Y2?smid=A1XQ9SM36WZG5P

Just hopped in the truck and ran a carista app diagnostic. To my suprise they support limited live data now and wheel speed sensors are working fine. Unlikely it's the sensors or the wiring or the tone rings. Womp womp.

Did the ZPC again for giggles. Afterwards VSC was kicking in every time I massaged the throttle. Every. Time.

Said screw it, let's just try different things and threw the truck into 4H. Ran it 4wd for about 2 miles in residential traffic topping out at 40. Stop and go etc. Put it back into 2wd and seems the computer no longer thought I was drifting the truck.

What. The. Hell. Is. Going. On???
