Yeah, I know the emissions and safety crap kills them for us. Toyota makes some really cool vehicles that we never get to see here. I'd love to be able to get a HiLux.

looks like a Tacoma to me. Just updated. However turbo diesel engines would be sweet. that for sure is probably an emissions/sales thing.

I have always liked the LC70 series. They are "Utility" but ring true to the Landcruiser heritage.

Yes but the GR Corolla is heading our way! Probably won't be as bespoke as the GRY but looks like it will be a 3 cylinder turbo, AWD and 260 HP or more, with a 6MT.

...the GR86 is reportedly greatly improved:

I wish they'd bring back factory made sport trucks. I miss the old Lightnings.

The real appeal is what the Hilux is capable of. It is a totally different animal than the Taco. We don’t get a midsize 1-ton here in the US.

In Europe it's called the Navara. In Mexico the Navara is branded Frontier but actually a Navara. It's got the same drive and power train as the USA/CA Frontier but different sheet metal and such.

They are banned in the U.S. for various reasons. In order to get one, you have to wait until they are 15-20 years old to bypass the laws. It's easiest to get them from Central and South America if you can find one. There is a guy here in Utah that has imported a couple and restores then sells them.

While the grille on this Hilux is still big, it looks MUCH better than the '22 Tundra. Why couldn't Toyota go with something like that?!?

My kid's 2013 Toyota 86. It is just used only for track days, he is slowly adding upgrades. He has about 7K for suspension and wheels/tires.

You will be surprised how well it holds up with the big boys on the track(except the straights obviously).
