My 2018 Tundra is great but with gas being what it is thinking of trading it in for a new 2021 Ford F150 XLT Powerboost. Usually get the extended warranty so should be around 60K. I get the reliability of the Tundra but thinking the Toyota hybrid will be pushing over 65K for what I am looking for. I only keep vehicles to around 100K anyway.

Do the math, you will need to drive a lot to make up a handful of MPG difference. Buying a new expensive vehicle for 3-5 MPG increase will not be a wise financial decision for most people. Now if you drive 25-39k miles a year, could be a different story.

I think this really boils down to if you need the truck for the line of work you are in. If so, you also have to factor in time lost due to breakdowns and shop time. Now I realize that Ford's breaking down is probably blown out of proportion however this being the first of a new model year and with the many many QC problems Ford seems to be encountering these days stack the odds of you getting a problem free truck against you.

If it were me, I would hold on to what you have unless there are other reasons than gas mileage that you would feel the need to trade the Tundra in.

You're probably right on this....but it happened to me a few years back, and I know at least 3 people whose brand new trucks (one with less than 1K on it) broke down, requiring towing or at least limp mode.
