I'm looking to buy a used Tundra 2016-2020 Limited or Platinum and slap a Magnuson Supercharger on it asap.
Hope to keep the truck for a while.
Is a truck with over 100k miles to high to supercharge?
I'm looking at a $10k - $15k difference in price from a used truck with under 60,000 miles vs. truck with over 100k miles.
    Any and all suggestions welcome

There's at least one member on here that slapped a S/C on his tundra that had over 200,000 miles on it and he tows regularly with it.

Installed mine last year(?) at 214k, nearing 240k now and no issues. Have the smaller high boost pulley on it too. It's seen over 12psi at sea level, and is pretty much stock besides 35s. I've towed and driven across the Rockies multiple times, most weekends has a side by side or heavier load behind it. Doesn't break a sweat and no issues.

It depends on how the engine was serviced during those first 100k, if you know the service history and find it acceptable - go for it. I purchased my '07 with 270k and I intended to install a SC, but I have no service history for the truck - I decided not to chance having the added pressure of a SC reveal maintenance mistakes made on this truck in the past, if any. The SC with a tune is the best hp/tq mod going, everything else pales in comparison.

IMO, the tundra doesn’t have any real “tune up” until 100k miles. Just slap a SC on one that’s slightly less than 100k miles, and have piece of mind.

The 3URFE is just getting broken in at 100

Yep I would definitely do it if I had the chance just watch out for cam tower leak. If it has over 100k and no signs of leaks odds are it will never leak. Let her rip

I spoke with Keith Carty | Dirty Deeds Industries about your post. This is what he said: It really depends on the prior maintenance of the truck. If all perfectly maintained, then anything under 200K miles.

Thanks for all the info. Currently looking at a 2014 4x4 SR5 Crewcab around $15k with 140,000 miles - or -
    2017 Crewmax 4x4 R5 around $15k with 160,000 miles
Are any of these a good deal? I would like a 2017, but 160k miles is a lot if I plan on adding another 100k supercharged miles lol.

160k isn't shit, there's tons of tundras over 300k without breaking a sweat. One dude the other day posted and had 230k and was supercharged since like 8k with zero issues. Those are better deals than I got mine for, I'd get the 2017 and slap a supercharger on it without hesitation. 200k is a lot for an american shit box, for a Toyota it's a drop in the pond.

Actually was a bait and switch the trucks were more like 175k miles and 218k miles at $25k and $20k lol.
Sounds good though. You guys have given me the confidence to buy higher mileage and also saved me some $ in the process.
Will be on the lookout for a good deal on a 4x4 2014+ with under 200k miles

I am interested to hear if you still have the 2014 with the Supercharger and if it is still working out for you. I joined this forum to ask that question.
I was looking at exhaust mods and intake mods and they weren't doing it for me. I have a cold air K&N and a TRD Exhaust already. I got my Truck in 2015 with 5,800 miles on it from the dealer and it has 160,000 miles now and is in perfect condition. I would hate to screw it up by throwing a Supercharger on it.

Just passed 262k this weekend. I did a 3000 mile trip over a week up to the PNW from Utah with our cab over a few months ago, in September I did a 1000+ miles up to Montana for a wedding. Over 20k miles this year, not a single issue. I even changed my tune over to HP Tuners and played with tuning the truck and pulling even more power out and running smoother! Besides some scratches in the paint and the seat having a tear, I don't think anyone would guess the truck has over 250k and potentially makes 600hp at (*at sea level :D ). I would still get the blower in a heartbeat, regardless of mileage. If you're remotely smart and don't just sit at redline for minutes on end I think it can last a very long time boosted. The only time it really sees boost is racing away from stop lights, merging onto the interstate, and maybe taps into it slightly climbing a big hill--all low stress or low duration events. I change the oil every 5k, and change the trans and diff fluids once a year; I'm also geared to 5.29s which also wakes the truck up a lot and reduces stress on the drivetrain. I definitely recommend it, I have nearly 50k since installing the blower now and never once regretted it!

    Wow. Ok, I am convinced.
    Now I have another question.
I found this Magnuson TVS1900 Supercharger System https://www.4wheelparts.com/p/magnu...stem-01-19-57-107-bl/_/R-GLGH-01-19-57-107-BL
4 Wheel Parts has it for $7,538.99 and the main reason i looked at them is because I can get 24 months SAC.
However, I am not sure how comfortable I would be having them install it. Would you have any reservations on having them install or would you go to the dealer and buy this through the dealer?
I am outside of warranty at this point.
4WP probably offers a warranty on the work.
I am in Kingston Springs, TN (close to Nashville) Does anyone have a recommendation for who to use in this neck of the woods?

Thanks again for all of the feedback.
    Its greatly appreciated.

Whatever this forum told me to do
buy it from the manufacturer or reputable shop.

preferably, buy it from the shop that you will be installing & tuning at. 2 birds.

the tuning is the key. find a good tuner who knows this tech.

Just crossed 294k last week. I actually increased the boost quite a bit on the supercharger too and got it dyno'd at 490whp/572tq in April or May this year. Runs like a champ and sees lots of full throttle action.

Took me a second to realize that's a sequoia! Sweet setup! I would do it again in a heartbeat, and effectively four different supercharger options these days too which is nice.

Damn the Sequoia looks so good with the 2.5 Tundra front end update. If they sold them like that, I might have moved to that instead of a Taco. So damn pretty and the Cavalry Blue is gorgeous!
