    Hey guys,

Getting ready to bring my Tundra in for its first service and checkup since purchased new in March 2021 as she has just hit 5K. Below is my list to cover everything I have found and wonder if I am missing something to be checked. Obviously the list may be overkill but I only get one shot at the 12 month fix everything warranty part for little things.

    1. DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BACK IS LOOSE. SHIFTS AND MAKES POPPING NOISE WHEN LEANING BACK, ACCELARATING.

    2. A/C MAKES HARSH BANGING NOISE WHEN ENGAGED AT IDLE.

    3. REAR BRAKES SQUEAL WHEN BACKING UP SLOWLY SOMETIMES.

    4. GAS FILLER DOOR DOES NOT STAY CLOSED PROPERLY. I MOVED PALSTIC RETAINER INTO DIFFERENT POSITIONS BUT ITS STILL OPENS BY ITSELF WHEN DRIVING.

    5. POPPING NOISE FROM REAR END WHEN PUTIING INTO REVERSE AND BACKING ON OCCASIONS.

    6. BLUTOOTH NOT ALWAYS WORKING TO RECEIVE PHONE CALLS EVEN WHEN PAIRED.

    7. TRANSMISSION AT TIMES SEARCHES FOR PROPER GEAR AND BANGS FROM SLACK ESPECIALLY GOING DOWN A GRADE.

Don’t you get a 3 year 36k bumper to bumper from Toyota on new vehicles?

Petty stuff only covered for first year as far as I understand.

What kind of warranty is That? That's what I see used cars have...

Did they give you documentation on this one year warranty that explains what it covers? Never heard of this.

Either way, if you have concerns, you don't have to necessarily wait until your 5k service, you could take it in anytime.

If my rear diff was popping and my transmission was banging I wouldn’t be waiting to roll over 5k to coordinate it with my first tire rotation.

Try to film the guys’s face as you read off this list. He’s thinking this is just a tire rotation and he’s done. Then you break out the list…

Naturally they stated they could not duplicate my concerns but they are getting me a new gas cover! LOL

Pretty normal for any dealership. Usually you need to request that a service advisor take a ride with you so you can point out the concerns. Especially if you can produce the issue on command

This. I had some issues with my truck (very very minor) and the service tech 'didn't see them.'

Asked to take a ride with the service manager; he found them right away, got the issues taken care of. :)

This is the best response so far. The AC issue is intermittent between trucks. Sometimes mine does it and sometimes it doesn’t. What I started doing was leaving the auto AC on all the time that way when I start my truck after it sits for a few days it doesn’t make that clunking noise. I haven’t heard it do that in months using this method. I bought my 2021 back in March as well. I only have about 7K miles on it.

you should also get them to check bumper gap most likely each side is different, mine still has a bigger gap on the passenger side that I still haven’t fixed since i bought mine 2019 which is a little annoying and still haven’t made an appointment because I refuse and scared to bring it to a dealer  I also do all my own servicing because of that:rofl:but all i can say is that I don’t have any problems i can’t deal with;)

My 2021 does this and it absolutely drives me crazy. I'm definitely addressing it next time I take my truck in.

My dealer has a) cut my windshield washer fluid line next the the hood hinge, b) left a flathead screwdriver under the hood over the radiator plastic cover piece, c) broke an $80 ham antenna on my tailgate mount in their car wash (I’ll take half the blame here I should have taken it off before I went there but lots of Toyotas have antennas they take off before they wash them), d) quoted me diagnostic charges to find out why my truck was making noises even though it’s under warranty

I do all my own maintenance now
