Hello there Im new to the group but not to Toyota. My question is does anybody out there have a stock Tundra 5.7 with stock wheels and have you added a Bully dog tuner. And if so has it improved the truck to the point it was the price. Have you had any check engine lights and did it help or hurt your mpg when you drive normal between 70 and 75 with some town driving. Im thinking about getting it but if it kills the mpg it might not be worth it I get 17-18 at 70 to 75 right now.

Bully Dog cuts off at 2018 if I'm not mistaken, no support for the truck in your profile.

The Bullydog is not compatible with the 20/21 models. I think it only goes up to the 2017's.

Some folks have had luck getting better MPGs with a throttle controller; I'm still skeptical about these manufacturers claims. Several different vendors offer these.

From my experience 65 seems to be the sweet spot for MPGs if you don't use radar cruise control. It really depends on your set up and mods. Good road tires and no lift probably have the best impact.

The bullydog allows the trans to hold gears better on the highway. I get better highway mpg with it for sure

the tundra runs rich in factory tune if I remember correctly and the tune leans it out. That is possibly the slight mpg gain

Thanks for the info I will just have to wait trucks only has 1700 miles on anyway I'm just looking down the road. I think my truck is bipolar if I do a 150 mile run at 70 mph I get 18.5 mpg If I do a 33 mile run at 65 mph I get 16.5 of course it is a gas diesel hybrid from the sound of it. Thanks

As long as you don't need support BD is ok. I have been waiting since early May for an "engineer" to do something. Long hold times and nothing yet has long ago gotten old.

I am not alone in this issue.

Anyone actually have this installed on a 2018? Thinking about trying it out.
