    I have had a Gen 1 Tacoma, and a Gen 2 Tacoma 4WD. and this is my first Tundra.
    It is in really good shape, about 120k miles - frame is clean.
    The 4.0 does NOT seem underpowered; I think a lot of V8 owners like to bash it but most haven't driven one!

    Welcome!

    That 4.0 is pretty close in horses to the 4.7 but not as close on torque. Still a good motor in my opinion. Does that happen to be a manual?

    @Tundra2 you've got a new buddy!

    ..and it has a timing chain! I am getting around 20mpg (19 to 22) on highway trips too. I like the size of this truck. It is bigger than the Tacoma, on the interior, but still reasonable. I wouldn't mind having a 4x4. I have two other cars so I could handle a V8 double cab, but overall I really like it.

    Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! Beautiful classic! I am looking for something like that for my son's graduation from college next year.

    Thanks. L.A. is the gulf coast? My sister in law and her husband just bought a house at Gulf Shores. Just remember you are buying the "Owner", not so much the truck. They are super reliable, but, like anything else, require proper maintenance. Mine was purchased from the original Owner, and though it had 100,000 miles, I could tell it was well taken care of. It was also an S.C. truck, and had no frame rust. Good luck to your son and his future truck!

    I live in Spanish Fort, about an hour's drive to Gulf Shores (with traffic). And yes, you are exactly right about buying a classic truck like that. Congrats again on your find!
