    Hi guys,

Anyone put in a permanent inverter setup with AC plugs in the dash or console that looks decent?

I have one of those cigarette lighter plug-ins you drag out and connect up, but would like to just have the darn plug. 65W laptop charger power mainly… nothing ridiculous, I promise!

Hid the inverter under the seat, this plug came wired with a 3 prong cable off Amazon. Where it sits it’s not noticeable but I can turn in on and off pretty comfortably.

Exactly what I’m trying to do, @camron1039 !
    Questions…
    1. Do you have the plug part number you ordered from Amazon?
    2. What size inverter did you use?
    3. Are these plugs dash mounted? I can’t tell what interior piece that is.

I stole the idea from someone else on the forum. I put a 750watt inverter under the drivers seat and put Velcro on it to hold it in place. Ran 6 gauge wiring to the battery, likely overkill but I’d rather be safe. The plug is mounted on the rear of the console direct centered under the vents. Works great and looks pretty good in my opinion.

I plan to run power to the bed at some point.

Get a good 3500 watt inverter and mount it under the hood close to the battery. Then run your inverter to outlet wires. Inverters dont like to be far the battery unless you use a monster supply wire which gets expensive. They also need good airflow flow for cooling.
A 3500 can power small power tools and similar under 1000w is a waste IMO.

@camron1039 has a setup that would be convenient for my immediate needs; I’m just irritated with that cigarette lighter plug Walmart inverter setup.
I was thinking about under hood and also doing a run to the bed. Needed that on one occasion so far over the last year of ownership doing what I do with the truck, but our future could involve an RV trailer and I’d need power for tools more frequently at that point.
Before I know it, I’ll be looking at a second battery as well. Christmas is getting close, right?

I was trying to figure out why you put the plugs in opposing directions and realized after a few minutes - really forward thinking, dude!
