I get your point. I think they worked the demographics and decided anyone that wants an E rated tire plans specialty use… for which they’d likely run 17” wheels. At least enough so it doesn’t make sense for them to think they’d sell enough to make it profitable, in both 17” and 18”. Just my opinion.

Wheel width plays a big part in how wide your tire “looks”. A 275 on a 9” wheel is going to look thicker and beefier than a 285 on a stock 8” wheel.

Big fan of the 295/70/18's on 9" +25 visions wheels... Little thicker than the 285 and not sweating the extra10 psi..IMG_20210307_161758.jpg

How do you have your suspension set up? I think I see 5160s back there.
Any trimming or removal of anything up front?
Any rub at steering lock and articulation?

    exactly why I went with 35"s K02 in E load and 18"s.
Never had any issues with KO2s on my other vehicles.

I think KO2s were made for SoCal/the desert. Most people who love them seem to be in the southwest US. That’s where I think they actually shine. They’re awful in the rain and and their tread pattern doesn't clear mud nearly as well as other ATs. But if you’re in desert conditions, they’re a tough tire that holds up.

Tire width??? Well the facts are the truck weight is a constant, so a skinny tire ends up putting down more surface pressure than a wide tire. But the wide tire gives a bigger footprint on dry surfaces. Like most things there is a need to find a balance.

That is a really good point on the KO2's.

I get that, but it really depends on the lift too.

Thanks for the detail. I have the same setup in the front. Do you think wheel spacers would have helped or hurt your clearance? I have been considering Bora 1".

Every Tundra is different so it is hard to say the impact. 1" spacers would definitely kick the tire out that I would look into fender flares.

How’d the mileage handle those tires? I have 6112 @1.9 and factory rear Bilsteins, leaning towards wide peak 285 75 18 or 295 70 18. I like the thought of more rubber between rim and ground on the 285 75’s

I haven't been able to calculate the MPG as I'm still having issues with the RC speedometer calibrator and my aftermarket remote start.

However, with gas the way it is now...the truck is parked most of the time.

35x12.50r18 Toyos run about 34” tall. I never measured the width on mine but height wise then 285/75r18 is pretty close. I had the F rated version on my Ram 2500. They were a great tire in pretty much all conditions and rode great with pressure correctly set. I used Toyos load chart and set mine to 45/45. On a Tundra you could probably do 40/40 with the F rated version.
