What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

awesome setup!!

 

Added some Diode Dynamics amber floods (SS3 Pros) today, and got some new Yokohama Geolandar G015s (stock size 275/55R20) mounted earlier in the week.

 

Need a night pic with those on, that's my next upgrade.

 

Diggin it, was looking into this one when I had my Tacoma, finally one came up for sale local. Hopefully one pops up for the Tundra in the used local market.

 

Weird quoting myself but, there’s a few spots of bare metal where the grinder nicked the black paint under the truck removing the spare tire guides…I think it needs painted so it doesn’t rust. Should I just use good old Rustoleum flat black enamel? What would you guys use?

 

Just spray the Rustoleum as it will likely never be seen as long as you stay on your tires and not your roof. Easy fix!

Not sure what you mean by “getting the shift gate out”. Are you asking how to remove just the chrome part from the shift gate?

If you are saying “remove the entire shift gate” it’s really easy. Remove the shift stick, open the center console and pop out the entire center component. There are two tabs on each side of the shift gate so with a small screwdriver gently press on each tab and it pops/pulls right out.

 

Those look great with the limited grill. Did you modify the brackets at all or did they line up as shown?

Got rid of the cupholder chrome!

Dipped using Anthracite Gray Plasti-dip then several coats of clear matte enamel rust-oleum.

Do you like the visors? I was curious if putting those on will fix the horrible wind-buffeting I get inside when opening the windows. This truck has the most violent airflow of any vehicle I've owned when the windows are open.

 

There's this thing, it's really cool. It's called air conditioning.....

If only the double cabs had that power rear window you could open a bit to let the air flow through...

Edit: I have the visors and they also help block the sun coming in at low angles and good for leaving the windows cracked on hot summer days!

 

Remove just the chrome part os what I meant. Got them out and finished up yesterday. Thnaks to all who gave tips/suggestions. Really happy with the results.

 

Threw this together in about 30 min with stuff I had laying around. 15”x36” with a single 3” leg to support that one corner. Sturdy enough and easy to pop in and out as needed.

 

Are you doing a build to the new Tundra to match your Tacoma?

 

Just installed this nice carbon fiber shifter knob. Nice feel and I really like the way it looks.

 

Hereeeck no, I need this to be a comfortable daily driver and reliable tow rig.

 

Maybe figure a way to hinge that puppy so you can flip it back and leave it under the seat whenever you don't need?

 

I thought about that but the frequency in which he's in the truck is so infrequent that it's honestly not worth it.

 

Nice idea you have and makes me think. It sure would be nice to have a level floor in the back at times. BTW, like your dog and neighbors (?) Camaro!

I surprisingly haven't experienced that eardrum blowing wind sound yet in this truck. I mostly got these to be able to crack the windows in the rain / snow without getting wet and am pretty happy with them so far. Super easy to install and they look great. My windows are well tinted but as mentioned above, these also help with the sun when it's at a weird angle.

 

I've built a similar, albeit much sturdier platform for my Tacoma, and having a flat surface for stuff is so handy.
