Steering moves when suspension is depressed

So I know I'm over do for new shocks but this is something I've never seen before on another vehicle.

When I'm driving and say I go over a dip in the road or cruising down the highway and the road gets bouncy I guess you could call it. When my suspension gets really depressed it can cause my steering to be pulled one way or the other. Just on the depress, on the travel up it straightens out.

Have any of you guys seen this. Is it just from worn down 200k suspension?

 

This happened to me. If you slide under your truck (no need to jack it up), find the shocks and leafs. Once there, whisper to them that everything will be ok. Should straighten your steering right out.

 

I've not encountered it with my tundra but it's pretty severe on another car I have... It's called "bump steer."

As the suspension compresses or expands, it changes the geometry of everything down there... as the springs load up, the relationship of one component to another changes, in my car, the critical change is the effective length of the steering arm... the change in effective length, depending on the design of the suspension either increases or decreases the amount the wheel is turned in. Bump steer is greatly reduced through a rack & pinion system but I don't think you can ever eliminate it.

with my truck had almost the same i got 300000+ miles on mine and finally tearing the front end down worn control arm bushings will do it and or worn rack and pinion bushings first truck i have owned with rack bushings...usually tends to wanna go more left then right but no matter what your chasing the truck under breaking
