yeah thats why i figured around 60k before add-ons for all the new tech/features to bump pricing from the 2021 pricing.

right now i have a hard limit of 65-67k MSRP before discounts and trade in. i am leaning toward 65k hard limit with options.

Replacing springs on the 3rd gen Tundra will probably be more similar to replacing rear springs on a Land Cruiser or even a 4Runner.

But, putting stronger springs on a truck doesn’t change the door jamb payload rating. It also doesn’t change that truck’s gross axle ratings, the fact that the rear axle is semi-floating, its stopping power, or its handling under a load.

Matching Chevy would require a crewcab 4x4 having 2k lbs of available payload. I’m sure it would only be in a less-equipped truck though (no bed liner, steps, sunroof, extra skid plates from a factory package, etc).

No this is false. The schedule has not changed at all, never has.

You would probably be very surprised to hear when the first one is rolling off the line lol

Me three with you and Terndrerr. I'll be very interested in the Sequoia debut. Hopefully it retains the Torsen center diff, such a nice feature. I'm surprised the new Tundra doesn't have it available.

The Chevys and Nissans I looked at recently with trims like my platinum ( sunroof, etc.) only had about 100 pounds more PL than my Tundra. I don't care about the stripped down trucks because I'm not buying one.

Nice, looks like there is a motorized deployable side step to get up to the bed. Looks similar to the previous gen aftermarket accessory that was manually deployable, but here it looks like the side button that lowers the tailgate also lowers the step.

On the Platinum, shown at 0:18 ...
You can see it lowered and raised at 7:26

I just thought that was pretty cool.

Edit: Looks like the timestamps didn't carry over to this post, just have to go to the timestamps I pointed out.

Curious, where have you found the EPA MPG numbers that haven’t been released? Or where are you getting info that this is based on an existing design (other than the Land Cruiser 300) which is based on entirely brand new platform? And what current Toyota minivan has this same V6 twin turbo? :)

Point taken, but you can have a second generator for the RV. How many kW does the RV need?

The 7200kW is nice if you have to power some items in your home for prolonged periods of time as mentioned previously. This doesn't affect me, as I just dropped two 20kW Cummins NG generators outside of my home. That ice storm and no power for a week sucked.

There are always those who feel the need to take a dump on a new model to justify their purchase of the previous model. It's on every vehicle forum for just about every model. Heck, his '21 might be the better truck in the end, but c'mon man...one shouldn't crap on everyone else's parade to make themselves feel more secure.

I run everything in my RV, including AC, with a 3500W gen. It will also run the fridge, power some lights and charge phones at home in an emergency. We have fireplaces for heat. If electric goes out at home in sweltering heat we would move into the RV.

Per the Toyota website the TRD Pro will be available March 2022 and all other models December 2021.

I agree with you that the plastics on the prototype does not look production ready. Fortunately that does not mean that they have not been working on it already; it might just not have been ready for the 9/19 reveal, since those reveal trucks have probably been manufactured a while ago.

I like it when someone says it won’t be a 70k truck. When they already can cost well into the 50s another 15 is just that not far off? We shall see when the price tags start to come out.??:) my guess would be 72500.00 list. for the pro with some gadgets and the bigger motor.:)

I can't recall which video, but one of them did say "very early prototype" but at least all of them had said they're prototypes.

So is the hybrid a mild hybrid? 244 volt battery under the rear seat?

On the prototype the plastic parts are not always production parts. Kind of like 3D printed parts for the reveal while the production parts equipment is being tooled.
Things like the engine cover definitely did not look like a finished production part.

Didn't think about that aspect. Yah, I think bed stiffeners will be necessary. My Taco I put a Leer shell on it and immediately noticed the tailgate gaps spread out.

Do you work for Toyota or get supplier?

Taking the F150 which wasn't as dramatic of a change. I believe the Lariat MSRP moved about 5k and then add in the powerboost another $3500. Then packages and options. I can see it getting pricey quick, especially if that's what buyers are already willing to pay.

Because if "you" don't buy a 70k TRD Pro someone else will.

There are some parts on some of the trucks that I know are grained, but where not on those show trucks. Which makes them look cheap. The engine cover on one i saw was not grained and this is not how the production part looks, same thing with the sliding tray on the center console..Nothing I have seen for the production truck looks cheap by any means

Is there still a manual handle on the tailgate (in addition to the button in the tail light)?

Yes. There's 3 (or up to) ways to open it. Manual, remote button, tail light button.

I dunno if you want that JBL. If it's anything like the current generation you'd be better off upgrading on your own.
