Finally my greatness is realized. A provincial park bearing my name is acceptable. A national park would have been better but I won't complain much. Not pleased about it being in Ontario though...

Hey guys just a question for my Canadian tundra owners. For those of you who had shops replace your leaf springs what did you pay?

Was doing some work on my brakes, undercoating, and what not and noticed I had a broken leaf on either side. Explains the clanking over bumps I was getting. Figured with the weight of my tools I will get an extra leaf installed on top of the replacements. Local shop quoted me $1600, with all new parts. I figure it will be a pain of a job to do in the laneway so I will definitely hire it out. What do you guys think?

The spring shop here in Calgary sells replacement leafs for 300/side (pretty sure that was the price) He said he could add 1 leaf to the pack if needed.
Maybe look for s spring shop near by?

Would that be installation too or just the shop price for the part?

Are you taking about Standens? I think the price went up a bit to about $750 for the pair. Not installed.

If the old ones are pretty rusted, it can easily be a 3 hour job even at a shop with the right tools. It’s one of those jobs I am happy not to do myself. Torching bolts in the driveway isn’t fun.

Thanks for the opinions guys, I trust the shops assessment I just figured I would get another opinion. I figured the price was reasonable but I've never had to do them so what do I know. I'm getting both sides fully redone. It was the middle leaf on both that broke, the others actually don't look terrible. But considering I usually have atleast 800 odd lbs of tools might as well get them done while we're at it. Shop didn't mention anything about my struts/ shocks but I may look at picking up some to put on myself afterwards. It's been a good work truck just needs some love.

Anyone need a sub $100 spinning reel? It's a well regarded reel.

Penn Battle III 2000 size. I was looking at the Penn Spinfisher but cant justify the price over this sale.

    Cabela's would NOT price match.

That's a good deal. I'm not super up on the Penn series. Is the 2000 a good size for trout, comparably to a Abu Garcia Cardinal 102?

I'm not sure. I was looking for a smaller spinning reel for my shore fishing, so it fit my needs and will be an upgrade from my 30y old Abu Garcia/Cardinal C4.

Based on its physical size that I saw and handled at Cabela's, it's similar to other brands 3000 reels. It felt as solid as the higher prices line Spinfisher IV and it isn't fully sealed for salt water fishing (no worries for me in MB/ON).

It holds 165y of 15lb braid.

Interesting. I may snag one to put on The Woman's rod.

I do need to buy a few more rods too actually. I have a pair of Ambassadeur 6500s and a 5600 I want to reline and match with rods for lakers and pike. Since BC is doing their best to manage the salmon runs to extinction, I doubt the reels will see much if any salmon action again.

I don't know how long the Amazon sale is live, they change prices hourly it seems. I used the drop down to make sure it was Shipped & Sold from Amazon.ca, as it appears they dropped their price to match an online supplier.

Luckily my local Cabela's had one on display so I could handle it.

Mine is schedule to arrive Sunday...ordered today.

So any Canadians ordering a 2022 after the reveal today?

It’s a no for me…. And adding a supercharger to 5.7 is becoming more appealing by the day.

Won't buy one right away, but will certainly want to sit in one right away, and drive the hybrid. Thinking a year from now a Limited CM 6.5' bed will need some negotiating on. More than likely though I'll be looking at a 2023 model by the time prices come down and stock of the trucks gets better decent enough for some negotiating wiggle room.

That's going be a hard pass for me. I want to have my current truck 20 years from now. I have zero desire to get a 3.5 TT Tundra.

No change to my plans to keep my truck until 2035 or until I need more payload. But if the max only jumped from 1700 to 1900, it's unlikely this truck will cut it for me on that front.

Not likely. We keep our vehicles for a long time, especially since we made the switch to Toyota. Bought my ‘16 Tundra to drive into the ground. Drove my last Dodge CTD for over 12 years. Should do way better with a Toyota. ;)

2019 Tundra and 2020 Rav4 in my driveway are both paid off. We didn't plan on a Rav a month after the Tundra, but we made it work. I hate payments.

The plan is to keep both for at least a decade....I'm hoping the truck even longer.

I'm not one to trade in/up for a bigger screen or new bells and whistles.

    So not me.

I'll probably buy a used one in a couple years, depending on pricing and if the bugs are worked out. I'm putting a bunch of money into my truck to refresh it and buy a few more years, but at 16 years old she's getting pretty tired.
