It was meant to get a rise and apparently it was quite effective.

You could have got away with a Tacoma. It has better gas mileage and a longer box for your bulky items. It would also be better off road.

I was up in Maine and some local guys were talking about leveling their trucks in order to plow/get through the snow. I like the look of it leveled, or closer to level, but I do truck stuff often enough that it would probably squat if I did that.

I like the leveled look, in fact my last truck was almost perfectly level. However that was a 2500 and even leveled it took 2000lbs in the bed to squat to a perceptible degree.

I’m keeping my Tundra stock until I get my camping setup squared away. The Escape 19 I’m picking up next month only weighs 3800lbs dry and has a max GVWR of 5k but I don’t want to be nose high.

besides (opinions) that level looks better than rake , you get some advantages like higher front bumper witch makes it easier to park on Honda's. keeps doors from swinging hard forward when opened do to gravity also level steps to get in and out of truck with out slipping into the door. also takes the strain off your neck from your head leaning forward and cocked back to look at the road. I do use my my Tundra a lot for Truck things like hauling loads , Towing Cars or any thing that seems to be what my day is giving. also pulling out stuck Jeeps , Chevy's or Fords :D. the level also helps a lot of the times with winch angle's when I need to move big heavy things.

I do have Air bags in the rear to keep level with certain heavy loads also Picked up Daystar Bag cradles that I've yet to installed but will allow the bags to float off the axle under hard articulation.

I don’t worry about what others like, but seems a lot of leveled trucks eventually end up with a permanent squat, not deliberately. Why is that?

    Zero use for a truck.

Admittedly when I posted this thread and the way I stated it was somewhat instigative and tongue in cheek. It definitely worked on instigating with some and hope it is all taken in good over opinionated fun for everyone.

You might not have seen that I banned the OP for a minute...as a joke.

I'm not sure why some people get so worked up. If you don't pay my bills, didn't walk down the isle with me, or whole heartily ask and value your opinion....No FG.

I'll let you in on a secrete about why pick up trucks come stock with rake , its cause the OEM is to cheap to make the rear auto level like a big rig or a real truck. But then again 80% of people who tow or haul loads never do it correctly , nothing funnier than seeing a non level trailer being towed do to not either having the proper drop hitch or raises hitch. :rofl:Talk about real danger.

I hear ya! Limited truck stuff usage...taking brush to the dump, Lowe's runs...etc

I could make do without it. After many years of driving manual transmission sedans and coupes I gave the Tundra a try. I love driving this beast:thumbsup:
