It was brought to my attention that the water pump was "leaking" on my 2017. Im at 59985 miles on the odometer so figured have it checked out at dealer with the assumption that the warranty would cover. After inspection I was notified that in order for pump to be covered it must be actively leaking! Yes I went ape shit- on the phone and at the dealer. WTF. I was told and shown that it had minor seepage sometime in the past - a small amount of pink crust. I am waiting to hear back if they will honor a "good faith" coverage. I have everything documented and I guess keeping fingers crossed. Any recommendations on a course of action if I get denied? Thanks.

Not actively leaking means that it is leaking under certain conditions that are currently present. You should be covered under warranty. The cooling system is pressurized and should never leak or seep.
