Hello! I am new to this forum, however, I have owned my 2014 Tundra since new. I know that the whole "biggest tire possible" topic has been discussed throughly but I have a question and I appreciate any assistance.

I currently have BF Goodrich All-Terrain KO2 (275/70/18) tires mounted on TRD wheels (see photo) with a Bilstein 5100 leveling kit (top setting...2.5").

I was considering the same tires but either 305/65/18 or 305/70/18. The overall diameter of the tires will only increase from 33.2" to either 33.6" or 34.8" so I should be ok as far as rubbing goes.

My question is about the wheels themselves. The overall tire width will increase 1" with either 305 (rim width of 9"). Will this work on the TRD wheels ( which are 8") that I have?

    Thanks again!

Thank you very much for this information! I guess that I was trying to stick with BF Goodrich but since they don't offer a 295 maybe I should consider different tires?

For example, the Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac comes in a 295/70/18 and has an overall diameter of 34.3" and a slightly larger rim width of 8.5" and a section width of 11.8".

Or the Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac also comes in a. 285/75/18 and has a diameter of 34.8" and a rim width of only 8". I guess that this actually makes the most sense so my original question remains.....is it a bad idea to put a 1" too wide BF Goodrich on my 8" TRD wheels?

Update: I just checked with BF Goodrich directly and they are not planning on offering a 295 any time soon or a 285 in a 70 or 75.

I’m pretty sure BFG started making 295/70 r18 this year.

I’m running Falken AT3w in 275/70 r18 on my Pro. They are a little heavier than most other brands in their class but they have been great in all conditions. Easy to balance, very quiet for an AT tire, and I’ve had no issues with them. As a matter of fact I just ordered the same in 295/70 r18 and hope to have them installed by the end of the week.

Those Falken A/T3W tires may be the way to go. I was just reading reviews and people love them. It looks like the 295/70/18 is for a 8.5" rim....we are only talking 0.5" bigger. Let me know how it works out and thanks again!

I’ve had BFGs and the Falkens are just as good if not better for a better price. I got my Falkens for a steal last year, before prices went way up.
