Spool of 16 or 18 gauge steel wire and some cutting pliers or leatherman to cut it. Some call it mechanics or agriculture wire. Along with duct tape can come in handy doing some HD repairs.

It's called bailing wire around here.

Keep the ideas coming guys. I plan to put this in a cohesive list and then I am going to make some sort of tool roll.

I am gathering tools together. This is a little used area of the basement. At some point in the near future my wife will tell me to get the tools off the basement floor. You guys have until then to add to this hodge podge.

In addition the sockets and combo wrench sizes used with Asian vehicles (8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 17mm), I would have a good 4-way lug wrench, pliers, screwdriver set (magnetic preferred in case you drop a bolt or nut), tire plug kit, & small portable compressor. Also make sure the spare tire holds air.

The other things that might leave you walking are failed ignition coil and inoperable fuel pump. While you won’t keep a spare fuel pump with you at all times, not a bad idea to keep a spare Denso fuel pump relay in the glove box. I also keep a spare Denso ignition coil in the tool bag as well. Not expensive, especially if you find a good used one at the junkyard.

Always keep the cell phone charged and be ready.

I probably don't need 4 of these. The drawbacks of "I might need this, throw it in."

When shtf, i can fill a passenger footwell with tools. I have a hundredsomething piece socket and wrench kit, a bag of ‘tools’ like allen wrenches, hammer, vicegrips, scrapers, etc..
And a seperate bag of ‘parts’ like wire, zipties, nuts&bolts, a magnetic tray, etc..
    And a bag of fluids.
One thing thats always handy for nuts and bolts is the wheel from inside a broken ratchet so i can run em one handed in tight quarters. Usually have 2 different sizes of ‘universal’ tools.

    201795596_10159183290445275_115480996670_720603d74a0aab6a0cf6bb48431f41323cea76d4.jpg
i found this one in an extra cheap ratchet, and i like it because if something needs to be a little tight, i can stab a screwdriver through it.

but i havent loaded the turdra. I heard the mere sight of tools will send newer ‘yotas into a panic, throwing codes and calling the dealer.

Home Depot has a nice 3/8 tool kit for cheap. Has most sockets you would need including a ratchet extension and spark plug socket. Also has a few Alan’s and nut driver. Pretty handy. I always carry jumper cables and a tow strap too. OOO yes and lots of zip ties;)

This is a treasure hunt to find all the tools you guys mention in my house. I have been collecting partial tool sets for a long time.

My picks have become more useful. Im terrified of snapping connector latches, so im double careful.
I keep a cable dog lead, the tiny poodle cable, but its like 30ft, and has come in handy several times. Just put those spring loaded hooks on the ends. It rides in my strap bag. Along with most of a roll of the cheap walmart paracord. I also carry a small roll of outdoor trashbags because this is my river.

I have like 3 flares and a first aid kit from when I bought my truck :bananadead:

In my own time I put 3 smaller sized husky toolkits from Home Depot underneath the back seats.

My tire iron is too big to insert into my rims so I should really get a skinnier one.
