I have a stock 2019 Tundra SR5 TRD Off Road Crewmax. So far, I have only done a little chrome delete around the cup holders.

Long story short, I have banked a few birthdays and holidays and my wife would like to give me a big gift. I would like to use this opportunity to make an upgrade or two on my truck and need some ideas on where to start.

I use my truck as a daily driver and we love to camp as often as possible. A shell in the future is likely but my wife wants to get me something different.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you

This is what I would do:

    1. Chrome delete on the exterior.
    2. Window tint.
    3. Spray in bed liner.
    4. Suspension.
    5. Wheels/tires.
    6. Supercharger (if your wife really wants to go big).

What bugs you about the Tundra, anything?

For me on last year’s road trip (6,000+ miles) it was three things. 1) the chrome in the cab. The sunlight flashes off the trim was killing my eyes so the chrome delete was a must. 2) the lack of lighting in the cab. Added an illuminated ignition ring (so I could see where the key goes instead of hunting around), footwell lighting, and lighting under the front doors to see the side steps. 3) engine and exhaust noise. After 7-8 hours on the road, the engine/exhaust drone was reverberating in my head hours after getting to the hotel. Added sound dampening to the cab to address this. These items were fixed before another long road trip this past March. They made a world of difference. The truck was much more comfortable after several hours of being on the road.

Save the money, buy some dogecoin. Wait a year, use the profits to add a supercharger, exhaust, lift and some new rubber, tint, better audio, and reinvest in dogecoin!

You MUST upgrade the sound if you listen to and enjoy music. Many of us have gone with a sub, door speakers, and a 5 channel amp.
When you pull the factory door speakers, you’ll honestly wonder if Toyota wasn’t trying to prank us. A disposable paper plate would do a better job. Reach out to @james@tech12volts

    He is the best dude.

Other purchases to consider that you will have immediate and long term satisfaction with:

    Diamondback bed cover $1600
Crossbin If you get Diamondback $200?
Katzkin Leather/heated seats all around $700
    Dirty Deeds exhaust $800
Pop N Lock auto tailgate lock $100
Level front end with shocks $$depends
    33” tires $depends

    Things that are nice also:
-ESP rear seat storage bin $150-ish
-Stubby antenna to replace the silly rod $10
-VLED led replacement lamps for interior and cargo
-USB sockets to replace existing cig lighter sockets

NONE! Lasted about a month, Firestone bags, Decked system, ARE CX HD, WeatherTech mats/rainguards, TRD RSB...
Decked system. You guys go camping? Getting a shell. Go get decked! And while your at it gonna need some Firstone ride rite air bags. Coupled together will hit her up for about 2k. And then you can 'give' her the passenger side drawer for her shewee and any other odds and ends she needs. And if you need to use your truck as a truck, get a trailer. Assuming you don't already have one. I'm of the opinion every truck owner should have a trailer. Would you rather walk a fridge or any other appliance up a ramp or try to give yourself a hernia loading it up into your empty ass truck bed?

Oh and then on your own dime, get a rear sway bar.

what did u use for sound dampening? I have 21 sr5 and thought i was the only one who hated the engine/drone. Even on short trips. Im thinking about installing the dirty deeds hemholtz resonator i figured that would kill the drone

toyota specifies 0W-20. can use 5W-20 for one interval but need to follow back up with 0W-20 on next change. at least for flex fuel engines. why risk voiding warranty or causing mechanical issues?

    10” standard in stainless.

I absolutely love it. I was worried I’d lose some grunt when I added the resonator. I didn’t. The sound is warm and turns heads. When I step on it, it sounds muscled, not obnoxious.

It’s supposed to deliver mpg, and it may, although nothing I’ve really noticed. It does seem like there’s a tiny bit more oomph.

Without the resonator, I got a drone that overtakes the stereo, people talking, and could just make you feel gross at steady freeway speeds.

I added the resonator and was immediately psyched about the purchase again. If they do a group buy, I’d advise anyone to jump on this one.

Just in some videos that are posted here on the site. You can find them in either the group buy threads or maybe in Tundra garage threads.

Thank you everyone for the replies! I only got two notifications, thought the post died, and hadn’t checked back as we are also mid-move.

All are great suggestions (except the oil swap sorry) going to research a few and see what fits with the budget. All the camping/extra storage options seem great as my kid has more items than we do when traveling though if some performance options fit the $$ I’m all for that
