What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

Installing my Hellwig swaybar, however the exhaust exits out the side right at the axle which is right where the right hand end link needs to be.

Time for the sawzall I think?

I finally stepped up to LED headlights and I got new headlight buckets too. I got the buckets and side marker light housings from yitamotor.com and the headlights off of Amazon. The light housings were $140 shipped and the bulbs were $45 shipped. I'm looking forward to being able to see at night.

 

That same guy sells repair kits for that. Not expensive either. Apparently it's fairly common on the first gen.

 

Got the foglight pods mounted in the buckets and the adapters wired up. I used marine grade heat shrink tubing that has adhesive inside so they're self sealing. I had to paint the buckets because I didn't realize that they sent me two different brands and they were two different colors. Tomorrow they get installed and connected to the foglight switch.

 

This is great work! Do you think there will be enough airflow behind the lights for effective cooling?

Might be wise to drill some ¼" holes in the back of the filler cup for airflow. You could arrange them so they'd be hidden by the lights.

Oh they're fubar alright. During a storm a while back my door slammed on me and in a blind rage I threw the door open. Not my finest hour.

 

I dunno, that whole mounting part is torn metal.

The other day when doing the Tweeter Install, I decided to Grease Up the Door Handles from inside. In doing so, I messed up the Cable Mojo leading from the Lock. My Hand ever so slightly moved the Cable when going into the door.

Result: Door Lock Problems on that door (driver side).

Fix: Remove door panel again and readjust the Cable Mojo (ever so slightly).


Conclusion: Cable very sensitive.

 

21 years and over a quarter millions miles... Mcguires Scratch-X works pretty good on headlights. Wish it would remove paint chips too. haha

True. I think around here you can do an inspection up to 60 days before the registration runs out. I'll be doing mine a little early this year too. Never know when a secondary air injection or gas cap throws a light.

Lol.. 30 seconds with the sawzall beat having to take the whole sway bar off. Since adding the new leafs I was already having issue with it occasionally bouncing off the exhaust tips. Hence the section of pipe I stuck between the hanger bushing.

Tundra on call, this one kicked my ass.
Both showers backed up, not until after I called the plumber, that I added the double drop shot swivel to make the stupid combo. My arms are on fire, I sent the snake down at least 15 times, pulled up two keepers that were thicker than my old dread locks, and the one that got off is what finally cleared the drain. Ran water for 30 mins and no more backup!

 

that tire mount is sweet. Can you add some more shots and who makes/ made it.

 

Tried to Wired up my third brake light on the snugtop. Couldn’t get it to work. Turns out the wires had fallen off the light, then when I tired taking out the light, it fell and the lens shattered. Hahahahaha

New light is on the way. Also washed the truck.

It’s a coastal off road DIY kit. It took some work to make it line up right. I tack welded it all together and took it to my buddy with a 220v unit to finish weld it all. I didn’t like/appreciate coastals customer service; so I designed and made my own swing out. It works well for me, but still need to add some accessories. I’m working on refurbishing a snug top as well for camping; should be a nice unit once I’m all done.
I’ll snap pics after it cools off outside.

Did you upgrade the bumps because you're lifted?

Did you replace the 8 bolts for the LBJ's or just stick with the originals?

 

Did the durobumps cause lifted and thought it would help. I haven’t changed the original LBJ 8.... but if this is something we should do, tell me please lol.

 

Just order 8 new bolts from Toyota. Supposedly they can fatigue from removal and install.

 

On 04 and older it’s best practice to replace the lbs bolts. Use a torque wrench!. 05-06 with the larger bolts your usually fine

 

My leaf squeak is caused by the rivets on the AAL clamps. Should I shave the rivet down or just straight up remove the whole thing?

I'm lifting the Sequoia later this year, slowly gathering parts for a front end rebuild also. 2" Ironman lift.

How does a guy know what length of bump stops to buy?
