I think it looks pretty good, imagine if Toyota decided to do something like that either with the Highlander or Rav4

That is no truck. Looks like an updated Subaru baja.

Could be fine for those that don't need a real truck, but do light duty hauling and towing.

    I like it. :notsure:

If you need a real truck, buy one. If you want a car with an open bed...here you go.

I wonder what kinda fuel mileage the NA 4 cylinder will squeak out. This would be awesome if it was a hybrid powertrain.

According to the Motortrend article I read earlier, total payload is just over 1700 lbs. Door jamb on my Tundra says 1150, so... I guess I'll put on my skirt and won't be doing any manly truck things either.

I think there's a niche for it to succeed. Majority of city/suburban folks don't need a full size truck, but occasionally need to move something they'd rather not have inside the vehicle. This fits the bill. I do question a 4ft bed though - still see a lot of the old school Rangers running around, so Hyundai might have missed a bit. Overall, I could see it doing well.

Lets hope Kia/Hyundai has fixed the problems with their 4 bangers catching on fire! They have had some real issues with the small engines, regular and turbo.

True. But that goes both ways. I spilled gear oil in the back of my suv 10+ years ago. I can still smell it when I open the door. Having a cargo area separate from the cabin is benefit sometimes.

Hyundais and Kias seem to appeal to a different demographic. I didn't think their Telluride suv was going to be that popular, but they seem to be around here. If they make this cheap and offer zero credit financing they will sell a ton of them.

Now, if we can just convince Jeep to resurrect the Comanche. I'll be first in line. :spending:

    It's a hermaphrodite. It doesn't know if it's a car or a truck.

All wheel drive, paddle shifters and I read someone else it has a locking rear diff.

When Hyundai first teased this, did they talk about it having an adjustable bed length?

I don't think it's too bad, for what it is.

Can't imagine being interested in this for myself, though...kind of on the same par as a Ridgeline.

I should have said that the new Hyundai pick-up looks like a 4 door version of this 2 door Subaru Brat rendering...the lines are almost identical. However, I would hope it has much more power than the Brat ever did!
