So, let me start off by saying I have a weird obsession to keep things as close to stock or stock looking if it is an upgrade.

We bought a 1994 StarCraft Starmaster 1224 last year, along with everyone else in the country buying TT, RV's can camping gear. Once we got it home and did a bunch of cleaning and routine maintenance, it has turned out to be a nice little pop up for my family. We don't do a ton of camping, as this was mainly to getting off the ground and to have a toilet. Granted this was when my wife was pregnant as well.

Any way, one thing that's been on my mind is the tongue jack. The PO put one of the swivel up boat jacks on. It works and its fine, but in my insatiable addiction, I would like something more along the original think. Doing some research, I believe it came with a clamp on style AL-KO jack. StarCraft PN 02-05-2663, which the don't make anymore. I thought in its slumber over the winter that it had a regular bolt on jack. I was wrong.

My question is to just say screw it and leave what is on there or do I change out the tongue to accommodate a proper center tongue jack, which would involve cutting out the old and welding in a new one, which I'm not to keen on doing. IDK if it would be worth doing for the headache involved.

Leave it, more trouble than it is worth to replace. Popups dont weight any more than boats so you will be fine. Enjoy your pop up, I have an older pop up myself.

I cant even figure out why you are not OK with what is on there now?
First you say that it is not what was on it from the factory but then it seems like you say it is?
If it works why does it matter?
If you think there was an up the middle of the tongue bolt on jack originally but there is no flange there for one and you dont want to weld one then what is the question really?
Do you think that the flange was removed from the trailer at some time?

The only reason that makes any sense to me is to lift and lower it more evenly. I tried to level it and the side with the jack on it was always higher than the non-side. But then I figured I'm going to be leveling it from the wheels anyway.

I wish I had the storage box in the front like yours. Almost got one like that, but the buyer backed out on me. Saved me about 3k though since it was a newer camper.

Maybe PO replaced the jack because it hits the tailgate? I like flip up jack.

    I can see that.
Do you think there was a center tongue jack when it was built?

It looks like the top of the Tongue in the center has framing for something that would have been in the way of a jack there? Do you think that was for a Box there?

The front storage is nice, and holds a ton. But, that type of design reduces the trailers tongue weight greatly. The first few tows it felt really sketchy and had sway. Weighed the tongue weight and it was only 150lbs, trailer is over 2500lbs. So I thew in about 100lbs of extra plate weights I had laying around in that storage area and she tows like a champ.

Yeah it would clamp to that and from my understanding is that you’d loosen a L bolt to raise the wheel, then lowers it and Jack to level.

Possibly or it just took a shit after so long. That would be my worry too if not being able to access the tailgate opening.

Didn’t even think of that. I just wish I had a spot for all the blocks, chokes, and levels beside the back of the truck.
