My setup is pretty much like yours; minus the carrier drop kit (did not need it). Set at 1.9" with 1 CB shim on driver side. CB Shackles @ 1.25". Zone off road UCA. SCS SR8 wheels with Toyo Open Country AT3 295/70/18. Final setup did have a slight rake @ 1". (which I wanted). Hope this helps. Good luck on the build. Post your pics when done. DSC04965.jpg

Can't see, but it does have a slight rake. Depending on where it's park; driveway, flat road, etc.

    I did 1.9 for a few reasons.

I did a 2in shackle in the back and wanted to keep a slight rake for the TSS sensors.

Also, I hear that the ride can be rougher at 2.5.

So after reading 56 pages here I am a little surprised I don’t believe I saw anyone using full replacement leaf packs in conjunction with 6112?
Well maybe I’ve done this all wrong but here is what is sitting in my garage currently to be installed:
    6112/5160(can’t decide between 1.9 or 2.5)
OME full leaf packs(2.5” of lift est)
    JBA UCA’s

I bought this truck a few weeks ago and it already had an old man emu lift. After some research I found it has their heavy duty front springs and a 1.5” block in the back making for a stiff and clunky ride. Also it’s crazy tall!
OME 613 and 1.5” block measurements:
    DF: 25.5
    PF: 26
    DR: 25.25
    PR: 25.5
Help! Do I set the new 6112’s at 1.9 or 2.5 coming from apx 4” of lift!? Like I said the new leaf packs should bring the rear up an inch from where it is.

You might want to double check the 5160s will work with 2.5” of rear lift. I thought they were good for up to 1” to 1.5” of rear lift, but I could be wrong about that.

    Anyway, nice silver double cab!

Ah shoot you are right, I honestly didn’t even think about it! Well I can reuse the OME shocks that are on it and at the most they have 50k miles on them as that’s what the truck has. Thanks! I want to keep it looking nearly as nice as it does but ride and off-road articulation is more important to me than looks.

You might want to call Bilstein and ask if they have another 5160 or even a 5100 application for another vehicle that might fit for 2.5” of lift if you want to keep all corners of the same make, but the OMEs sound like they’ll work.

I’ve got 2.125-2.25 rear with 5100s and they don’t top out.

    They did with 3.25

That’s really good to know they work with 2-2 1/4” lift cause I will be using it off-road a fair amount. Thanks everyone, I will give the 5160’s a chance and see how it goes. Will post back when I get the 6112’s and leaf packs on. Thinking 1.9” front for comfort and suspension travel but most likely change my mind 10 times

Well guys I did the install this weekend. First impression is I love the look and the ride so far. I did top setting in the front and 1" toytec shackle in the rear and camburg UCAs. I have about 100 miles on the set up and will get an alignment soon.

I have to say that the install was a absolute bitch. Just about every thing that could go wrong did. I had help and a lift which did save some headache but overall took about 12 hours over 2 days. The bushings in the rear leaf springs were an absolute monster to get out. Ended up using a ball joint press and with much trial and error eventually got both sides out. Also getting out the UCA bolt was also putting it mildly a PITA. Then getting it back in the new one was another challenge that we didn't need. Most YT videos make these installs look pretty easy. But I'm sore, tired, ready for another weekend now but very happy with the overall results. If anyone is on the fence about doing it yourself I would suggest just taking it to a shop if you can afford it. UGH!

Didn't end up installing the diff drop (just said f'it for now). Thought I could get the shims later if needed but not sure I want to go through any more hassle to be honest..

I'll edit this most soon to add a couple pics I took. Just too exhausted to get better pics today.

Hey I just put on a similar setup. How were your alignment numbers for the front, I've had a little trouble getting mine aligned. I think we did 5.9 or 6* Caster and camber at 0.

    Good job. Looks great

    For those attempting themselves

    - An impact gun on the ball press makes rear leaf bushing removal super easy.

Also wanted to add apart from needing the alignment the overall ride is very good much better than stock. It definitely is smoother overall--still not as soft riding as my tacoma was but I think down sizing my rims and going bigger tires will help out even more.

What size tires ya going with? I’m always eyeballing setups and 17’s with +25 BS and those new Firestone XT in 315/70r17 is looking pretty hot to me right now! Truck looks awesome and good for you for getting it done yourself. I’m partial to Cavalry Blue :) I paid approximately $1k to get mine installed including the alignment at a reputable local mechanic. My weekends are so valuable, “priceless” lol! Stinks when you need a weekend to recover from your weekend. I work every other and have a toddler solo on my weekends off so a bit different than normal situation. Free (no kid) weekend time is spent partying or pedaling the Mtb. Sometimes I party while I pedal, gotta be efficient!

I'm not sure what size yet. Trying to justify getting a new wheel set up with the wife is a challenge when my stock wheels are still pretty new but I'd like to get 17's and the biggest wheel I can fit without any major modifications. I think depending on the offset the 315/70 could work. I feel you on the weekend time being priceless. I own my own business so all I have are weekends for myself. I deal with a lot of mechanics and could have had them installed for next to nothing but really wanted the satisfaction of doing it myself. But damn what a pain it was LOL

One build regret I have is not changing my wheels when I upgraded tires. Now I have to wait another year or two to make that upgrade... but then again in another year or two the rig may need a refresh. Just think the right offset and tire size woulda just set my build off. I have 285/75r18 now on stock TRD off road and they are so expensive. Those 315 Firestone are $67 less per tire than the 285 Falken I am currently running.

I can't understand why Bilstein still sends those ugly ass pipe clamps for their 5160's. after spending all that money on reservoirs, you'd think they would just include the billet clamps. I couldn't stand it and ended up lucking into a pair of billet clamps for cheap. but there's tons of billet clamp options cheaper than $45 (each) for the Bilstein ones.

I have a 2.25” front lift. Same wheel/tire setup you’re describing no spacers. The rubbing will be on front spat, stock off-road skid, and front sway bar with stock wheels and mild left/level. The sway bar is never gonna wear through and the tires were never damaged by it. I did remove it eventually though more because my springs are pretty stiff and didn’t think I needed it (I did not need it).
