Not an EDC or a consol knife, its displayed on the wall in the man room. My Gramps was a leather worker, too old to be drafted for WW2, so he went to the Pacific theater as a USAAF civilian employee in a parachute depot. They worked on parachutes for both personnel and equipment, as well as preparing bail out kits for aircrew. One of the bailout kit items was the Kinfolks V44 Bailout Knife. He brought this one home, used it for years to clear his rural property in PA, then passed it on to my Dad and then to me. A treasured family heirloom. Has only been used recently to cut a wedding cake! Kinfolks V44.jpg

They are “supposedly” coming out with a larger selection of stones so it could still be worth the money. I’ve got a 20CV ZT and a M4 Benchmade and the it takes ages to sharpen. I have whetstones for that.

Works like a charm on S30V and assorted kitchen knives. I restored a broken tip and went from 25 to 20 degrees on a friends PM2. Got my moms cleaver down to 18 degrees and she loves it. At first she was scared she’d slice open a finger.

Thank you for your thoughts! Reality is that I stress and frequently drip some blood on the shop floor with every knife.
Old school and slow, lots of hand work!
