A guy driving a company vehicle backed into me at my job (big corporation). It was in the parking lot. The GM came out to see and said they’re at fault and their insurance will cover. What worries me is the insurance company possibly being a problem by totaling it. It’s an ‘07, still drives great, no oil leaks, and has 204,000 miles on it. Any thoughts on this? Anything would be appreciated.
No holes, and it seems all cosmetic after looking underneath, but who knows.

I don't think it will total but if it does buy it back. The insurance company will offer you a salvage buy back. You could ask them to lower the buy back as well. Good luck

I just talked to several auto yards a couple of days ago looking for a rear bumper for my buddy's 2010 Tundra. They told me that there is no such thing available because they are fixing almost every Tundra due to them holding their value. Going by that, I would say you are getting repaired!

This really sucks man I know from recent experience
Quick bb search puts your truck at 10-12 k very good condition in my area so using oem parts I think you will be very close
They will probably want to put a whole new box on
:fingerscrossed: You get it fixed that’s a sweet Tundra really like that color

I can take a pic, but looking under there, nothing appears bent on the frame. Seem to of just pushed in the body. It was the corner of a econoline moving slow. I’ll send one tho

Sorry this happened to you. Accidents are the worst to deal with.

Bedside, bumper, and some paint should get you fixed up and good as new. 6500.00 in damages is what I would guess. Might be able to find a complete bed and paint it. Not as common as the domestics due to fleet use. Worth a shot though.

Probably buy an entire bed and tailgate from a wrecking yard. I’m sure your/their insurance
doesn’t purposely want to write it off. Very inexpensive in the grand scheme of things. Best
of luck. I’d say no way they are just gonna write it off.

I’d guess it will be fixed.

Was the broken rear handle /door dent, and the long scrape above the wheel well part of the damage from this same incident?

Hmm. Doesn’t help the overall value, but I still think it will get fixed as opposed to written off. Was trying to figure out how all that happened by backing into it, makes more sense now. Good luck!

Good luck finding parts, seems like there are no Tundras in junk yards and if there are they don't part them out they get bought, fixed and back on the road. I just missed out on a matching color bed for my truck by 3 days for 800$. Look for whole bed, you might get lucky. Your truck is still worth 15 to 20k. Now I'm thinking of opening one of the rust holesin the bed and make it a piss drain for when I camp out ...

That sucks. Happened to me in my 2018 f150...by another f150 at an heb parking lot, caved in the whole passenger bedside. Nothing happened to his rear bumper of course.

Insurance hasn’t gotten involved yet, but I decided to go get an estimate. This guy is telling me that they are going to total it. I picked the best 5 star reviews place in town.
He said unless I decide to go get my own used bed, the labor involved is a lot. Need to cut off side panel and weld on new one. Wild shit. We’ll see how this shit goes. This truck is killer, so idk wtf. We are talking now.

I agree with this. If they total it, be prepared to haggle. Get the settlement up as high as you can, then negotiate the lowest buy back possible.

I also, however, agree that there isn't enough damage to total it.

Back in October 2015, I got hit by a drunk driver in my 2010 Tacoma (He was in a 2002 Mercedes E320), and in my opinion the damage to my truck was worse than the damage to yours; $2,200 to fix, so I don’t think yours is totaled...

You gotta compare apples to apples, for instance your truck has a composite bed meaning that the bedsides are bolted on unlike the Tundra where they are spot welded. Also were talking a much larger panel as opposed to yours. The Tundra may also have inner bed damage as well based on how much further the panel is pushed in.
