Towing a 2021 26DBH-L with 2020 TRD Crewmax. Haven't had it's maiden voyage but towed great from the dealer. 20210116_144601.jpg Have a few trips planned this summer. Farthest is going to be Yellowstone.

We're going to Campfire Lodge Resort in west Yellowstone. Going to stay for a couple days in Bryce canyon a couple days before. Last time we went to Yellowstone was tent camping. Should be a lot more comfortable in this beast. Lol.

Well... I DO tow a camper. But I tow it with a Honda Gold Wing trike. Here's the Wing and my Bunkhouse LX camper set up at the Hideway Campground in Dingwall, NS up on the far end of Cape Breton Island.
    20180731_204648.jpg

And here it is all folded up just before we (reluctantly) started on the way home.

    20180802_104806.jpg
Neither of my Tundras would even NOTICE a 350 lb trailer behind them.

2021 Keystone Passport 240BH. 5100 lbs. dry. We picked this rig up this past weekend and towed it ~300 miles from Pismo Beach to San Diego through LA. I am using a Equalizer E2 WDH with 1200lb Trunnion bars and the truck handled the rig great. I am actually looking forward to taking long trips!Resized_20210226_162131.jpg

I did not monitor transmission temp but keeping an eye on engine temp which seemed normal. Are you suggesting I should monitor the transmission or just asking in general?

I would highly recommend monitoring transmission temperature to everyone towing a decent sized travel trailer. Very happy with my Scan Gauge. If you wait until the warning light comes on you have probably cooked your transmission fluid. Never had an issue with engine temperature but the transmission can easily go over 240 even when in manual mode.

I believe they just took away the transmission cooler in the last few years. My 2016 has one so I really haven’t watched the issue closely. I know a lot of people are unhappy about it going away. With the transmission temperatures I run into on the mountain passes it seems to be a questionable decision by the engineers.

I would keep an eye on it , I tow with my 19 around 4K lb travel trailer and never had an issue , like others said , just watch it when you’re climbing and make sure it don’t overheat.
light will come up at 302F and you don’t want to be there .
Between 220 and 240 should be fine , service the transmission at 60k per manual .
Enjoy your truck and have fun camping

That's what I'm using and it puts my mind at ease. When I was climbing to 4000', temp in the pan got up to 221° and 246° at the TC, but only for a moment.

Jtundra81 - tows great. A few trips to the scales were key and the factory black shocks had to go due to some porpoising. Otherwise it towed great for about 2k miles. Running the recurve wdh with built in sway control.

Just got done finishing the inevitable list of mods: 5100 fronts, CB shackles, bags and e range tires, so I'm almost starting over this year with setup.

For temps, highest I've seen was 276 at the TC and 257 in the pan. Needless to say i was shocked when i started monitoring and Chase is sending me the Setrab cooler kit this coming week. Driving in S4/5 in T/H really kept the temps in check and brought 8.3 - 8.7 mpg on average

Yeah , I got a 19 and tow a travel trailer around 4000lb , I tow on s4 and tow / haul and manage to keep temp around 215 average.
Yep , you will need that cooler , those temps were high .
Did you see it on a climb or just highway ? What were you getting while on s4?

Those were seen during my first run in D while monitoring, combo mountain climbs (for what the Berkshires in MA are) and rolling hills in flowing traffic.

With S4, highest i have seen was 267 TC and 240 PAN. Typically run at 215-225 PAN. Highest was in stop and go Boston traffic in early August.
