A limited slip or diff locker and good tires will get you almost anywhere without 4wd unless both your tires are spinning although 4wd is definitely more convenient.

My last car was rear wheel drive and you basically got anywhere you needed with momentum. Always remember to never stop when driving uphill in the snow. :D

No cheating. Recovery vehicle being a 4cyl 2wd is double negative points. Nissan is less penalty than if Ford or Chevy.

Total -3.5. Add last weeks -4 ‘hydro nap’ and we have lots of work to get back to Normal Status.

I’ll never forget when I first got my tundra... in 2wd pulling into my garage. Foot on the brakes in the snow... my rear tires were spinning at idle.

It was at that point I decided my Tacoma wheels and tires were going on...

I bet if he had some of those cool Colourful Plastique Recovery Boards he would have gotten out. Maybe a Tonka Shovel, too. :deadhorse:

I wonder if keeping some weight in the bed would help. He has good tires. It might give him a bit more traction.

a load of gravel. In the bed for traction, or dumped on the ground.
Seems to be the usual parking spot, could lay a boarder of some dead trees & dump a load of gravel on top of the mud. Commit to the parking spot. A couple of bucks spent to make life easier for the next two+ years. (How long does gravel stay put?) How much could a bedful of gravel cost?

Cleaned the interior of the truck last night and finished up my extra storage in the rear seat area. I had the first bench for the past year, but added an extra box up top. Still fits my dog who chills on top of the whole thing. IMG_20210204_160159388.jpg IMG_20210204_160222272.jpg

I hope not! Haha had a few issues with the rear that would steer me away from getting the front. Not sure what I’ll do for the front, maybe a tube style prerunner looking setup

Found myself with some free time and access to the heated shop I work in. I decided to do a little inspection and tlc since I feel bad for not washing the truck.

I polished beginning paint wear and then installed a clear 3m strip to protect the tailgate paint from the camper shell door seal. It began eating into the clear coat.

If you look in that corner of the camper shell, you can see it's already eaten through the 3M clear strip I installed a couple weeks ago. I'm not sure how to prevent this from happening.

I crawled underneath and realized I never snapped a pic of the o2 sensor fix when I cut my cats. I bought a catted o2 spacer and added a single drilled out anti-fouler. It's been code free for over a month now with lots of driving.

While underneath, I noticed a really weird and deep cut/crack looking thing on my transfercase. It's not leaking oil, so I'm not too concerned. I was wondering if that's something anyone else has witnessed.

Is the shell a Snug Top? Those tend to sit further down.

Interested in the o2 spacer and anti-fouler you bought, happen to have a link?
