Anybody out there ever mounted a roof basket direct to roof tracks? I think it would require some minor fab work to make a bracket for the tracks but it seems doable.
I installed some roof tracks on my shell and then picked up a used Yakima roof basket, towers and bars. It's a solid setup BUT it sits really high off the roof which I 1, don't particularly like the look of, and 2, eats up a few extra mpgs.
I was thinking if I could find/fab up a bracket that could mount direct to the roof tracks I could then drop the rack right down right onto the tracks...anybody ever done or seen something like this done, or have any thoughts or insights to share?

Awesome thanks, I hadn't thought of the conduit clamps, they look like they could work out great.
