Hi yall. New member from West Texas, and 1st time Toyota owner. This forum is overwhelming. So much to look at. I have a 2016 tundra crew max and i See the space behind the seat is a good size. I’m looking to see if anyone has put a Alpine type R 12” behind the seat? Any site’s that i can order a box from if its possible? Any input, leads, or help is appreciated.

I don't know how far west you are, but there is a shop in Wichita Falls that makes some nice boxes with decent shipping prices.
I almost bought one, but decided to keep my JL Audio Stealthbox.

Shoot them an email, they are great guys.
Very helpful in answering questions I had for them..

Welcome from TX! Most of us have or use @james@tech12volts, he's made a ton of boxes specifically for the tundra and is definitely the go to guy before any other brands/places!

Or do like me and remove the back seats, and build a wall. Then you have room for massive subs:D

x2 for Net audio. Plus they can build to manufacture specs. They built my box in my last Tundra.

The short answer is "NO", you will not be able to fit that sub behind the seat in its current form. There have a been a member or two whom made new seat/floor brackets that pushed the back seat forward an inch to give them more flexibility on sub depth. That being said, the absolute max top mount depth for a sub, that you are going to be able to fit back there is about 4.5", and that is with a special custom box that has reliefs cut in the back wall of said box, for the magnets. James @ Tech12volts can make such a box. Anyway, hope that helps!

Yep the magnets on my little 10"subs are a bit too large.

I started designing a box that would actually sit on the back seat, and was secured by the seat belts. It would act a moble sub system that could be removed if needed, but the subs I got are so heavy that two of them and a box would be over 150 lbs, so I just removed the back seat. Sky s the limit now:thumbsup:

Thanks y’all for the input. Ive talked with James and he also said no. Moving seats up good idea there is a lot of leg room back there already and my kids hardly ride with me. Ill have to look into bracket cost to move seats up some and see what kind of cost im looking at and compare to buying new sub/s and box
